Congressman Dana Rohrabacher is not the one (as we say in the Matrix). He (Rohrabacher), responding to the Russian show of strength in Syria, has been tapped on the shoulder by his Zionist masters to throw a bone to the rubes (that’s us). I agree with you wholeheartedly with you that Western pro-Russian figures seem to be strangely demonized on pro-Russian websites by commenters: I’m not sure if that’s because of bad analysis, knee-jerk suspicion/paranoia, trolling by closet anti-Russian commenters, compulsive contrarianism or, least-likely, due to the commenter having inside knowledge.
Regarding Rep. Dana rohrabacher: He has taken a lot of flak from his peers for trying to be objective with respect to Russia and pres. Putin’s policies: ie not toeing the MSM lies.

You’re entitled to your “take”, but those who of us understand that in the real world you have to deal with realpolitik and you have to deal with compromise and negotiation disagree with your certitudes and expectations.
You cannot expect Rohrabacher to deviate completely from the Western narrative and then expect him to be effective or taken seriously by his peers, constitutients and media. People in the US have been fed so many lies that of you try to throw all the truth at them at the same time they react in total disbelief and tune you out. In order to reach them you have to operate in their falsehood ridden paradigm and strategically contradict the most important deceptions. Rohrabacher has to regurgitate that “Assad is a dictator” just to keep his foot in the door of the minds of Americans, but he follows it up with: “but our allies the Saudis are worse”. The main point he’s making is that the US has no business attacking Assad on moral grounds when US allies, the Saudis, are worse and the US shouldn’t attack Assad on practical grounds because it empowers the Islamists.
It seems that Saker must have also heard the apparent “ignorance” in Rohrabacher’s words that you object to, yet he found what Rohrabacher said to valuable enough to praise him and post his hearing video here.
There has been such a shift into compromise from lack of courage (or knowledge or conviction) over the years that the entire system is now rotten and crumbling. These people could just as well negotiate with themselves and agree to tell the truth — or resign, taking a fair bit of money with them, as various senators and representatives did some years ago, and continue to speak out — and actually change the situation. The collective moral and truth-telling failure dooms us to destruction, but is no more or less evil than as an individual.
Putin is diplomatic, but has no trouble dealing with the truth and showing some courage, and he is successgful and popular because of it. Roosevelt went against the rich and the wealth shift at the time and was re-elected 3 times.
One can indeed be both effective and taken seriously if one goes about it properly — and has a bit of courage. Rohrabacher did not have to tell lies to get his points across, and the old ‘everybody does it’ is not a valid excuse for dishonesty — and is surely not a reason to criticize those who recognize it and speak out about it, which is not demonization, but just telling it the way it is.

He has complained on air that despite his support for Russia it hasn’t been reciprocated by Russia (to which he was subjected to awkward silence). That doesn’t sound like a deep state insider, but more like a traditional Congressman.
And by a traditional Congressmen I mean one who expects quid-pro-quo and sponsorship. Also one who is a standard thinker and not a fully informed and deep analyst.
Many people in the West bought the propaganda line that the West is trying to help liberate and protect people, including many of their politicians and military; not all are so astute as to have understood the con-job from day one. Many people used to believe in Ronald Reagan, only after seeing the terrible legacy of that administration/Regime and other disallusioning events carried out by the Western alliance did their beliefs get shattered and they then start questioning their own government’s actions.

So I guess “enforced disappearances” will be the new phrase used to justify all sorts of horrors from the US govt. I remember when Clinton first used the term “weapons of mass destruction” that we were in for a nasty ride. That term’s had alot of legs; I expect no less from “enforced disappearances”. These terms are obviously market tested, if for no other reason as something Chris Wallace can mouth with suitable gravitas.
well, I suppose the meaning of this publish is to show how the tide may be changing in the US… nobody have illusions about the american politicians, but the meaning of such statement is very significant… not because Rohrabacher became a saint, but because, even with all the positioning described in above comments, now he feels compelled to change position… very meaningful
Rohrabacher is a very conservative Republican, elected many terms by a very conservative district in Orange county, California. At least he isn’t running exclusively with the herd!
So you’re saying Saker was wrong in his positive assessment of Rohrabacher and that you believe you know better.
Then you make the assumption that Patterson is an imbecile, what about the possibility that she’s a completely sold-out liar that is fully aware of the true nature of the regimes she’s covering up for? That wouldn’t make her an imbecile, that would make her a b-stard, or how about the possibility that she could be both.
You have to be an idiot to say what Patterson said and expect to be taken seriously — it’s like telling people that the world is flat — and thinking that’s a clever way to do diplomacy or that it will help the US position. Even if one is an evil psychopath one have to be stupid to say such unbelievable things and not know it will blow back in the future.

My god, is that US ambassador a total bullshitter. She says that the Saudis are not killers like Assad (who is essentially defending his government from their goons)? What the hell are they doing in Yemen, woman? What do you call their involvement in Syria? They supply men, arms and money to ISIS, al-Qaeda and al-Nusra. How would you describe their horrid treatment of the multitude of guest workers they hire and treat like slaves? Did you forget that 16 of the 19 terrorists who hijacked the airliners on 9-11 were Saudi’s? Osama bin Laden was a Saudi, undoubtedly protected by his government until it was expedient to kill him. They behead people and crucify them for protesting against their despotic rule. Yet you purport that their hands are clean? Too bad the congressman wasn’t astute enough to nail her on those points. Absolutely no one speaks for truth in the American regime, from Dictator (and war criminal) Obama on down. And now we are about to give Turkey a blank check to invade Syria. Our dictator just loves other dictators, loves war and hates people. Hence the fools in Norway awarded him the Nobel Peace Prize, just like Kissinger.
