Andrei Martyanov: Response to YouTube “military analysts”
Please visit Andrei’s website: https://smoothiex12.blogspot.com/
What I have difficulty with is why the Russians allow these offensive weapons to reach the front line. Why are these HIMARS etc not destroyed within the first 50 kilometres after entering Ukraine. Why are they not taking advantage of their air superiority. They should have destroyed all transport and logistic routes that enter Ukraine from the west it just does not make sense to let these weapons reach the theatre at all. What is preventing this?
I’d like to know how can the HIMARS be used for days and not hit any military target and cause no military casualties. It’s normal for a State not to reveal that, but difficult for individuals to believe no such facts exist (and unnecessary too).
Dear, what you do not have in mind is that the Russian military intervention is defined as SMO which implies not attacking civilian areas or carpet bombing or indiscriminate attacks. This now allows the “ukies” to transport large quantities of weapons from Poland almost freely by rail and in broad daylight. All this is going to change when a new military phase begins, as inferred by Shoigu’s call to urge the speed of the Russian advance. In a new phase, things will change radically and the fall of Ukrainian Nazism will accelerate.
OK, i understand that SMO means, among other things, that RF decided to fight this war with “one hand tied behind”. What I don’t understand is what/why RF doesn’t threaten to arm with modern and capable weapons countries like Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, N. Korea, etc. in case the “collectives West” continues to supply Ukr. with weapons, trainers, advisors, etc.
For a simple reason: Russia does not need bases/missiles in other countries because it already has hypersonic weapons, capable of reaching the enemy anywhere on the planet. And more, the Russian mind is different from the American. While the Russians feel an uncontrollable need to show that they are powerful, the same is not true for the Russians, who are more focused on results. If the Russians responded in kind, they would be playing the game under US rules and would end up going into debt (like the US).
Errata: Where it reads: “While the Russians feel…”, read “While the Americans feel…”
They tried thay during the soviet days and the west bankrupted them and collapsed their government.
Then raped Russia for a decade, thereby bringing Putin to power in the first place.
1. The NATO regime is using civiliance as cover. Weapons are transported in using regular cars, trucks, busses, containers. If you use intelligence to target those fakes, mistakes will be made or created, and innocent people will die. Warcrimes and bad PR for the ukrainian population, making future de-nazification a harder and longer task.
2. Ukraine could be viewed as a wrecking yard for military equipment under western control. It is a slow disarmament process of the west, which will end up naked in the long run. Reduced risk of future direct NATO assault, as their out of equipment :)
3. Supply of NATO weapons and munition for analysis. Know thy enemy. There is a reason mostly obsolete equipment are send to the Ukies, and little of the latest tech.
I agree. It is strategic to obtain samples of Western weapons systems such as the Caesar and HIMARS, but that has already happened. They also have obtained enough imported weapons of all sorts to supply the new republics for many years. It is high time to make all roads and railroads connecting ukraine to Poland, Romania, and Moldova into craters. This will not destroy civilians unless they choose to drive into these holes in their cars. One also has to wonder why Russia has not made a no fly zone. Perhaps they want to bleed NATO dry, and a little more is desired. I don’t mean to criticize Russian leaders, I am just speculating and am sure they know what they are doing.
The Russians cannot pretend to fight against the collective West by bombarding civilians, under the pretext of “collateral damage”.
The eyes of the world are on them.
Correct. It is a cirurgical operation.
Hi Bru. You know, sometimes I think that the russian army is analyzing the power of the western weaponry (reach, power of destruction, electronic, who knows), leaving they use in the battlefield for some time. After this, the RF simply make them scrap, with a lot of ukronazis and mercenaries.
There’s some truth to this, eventually there will be direct collision, at the moment Russians are testing enemy power/equipment, as if almost they beg the west trash: come in, bring in all your goodies, we’re here.
Chutzpah – Extreme self confidence or audacity.
I think I have an answer to the kind of background Blinkov has and why Andrei’s unable to ascertain his credentials.
Many of us have heard of Phil Silvers, eighth and youngest child of Russian immigrants to America.
Well Phil Silvers most famous acting role was Sergeant Ernie Bilko, know as The King of Chutzpah.
Blinkov or Blinko to his friends is from the same school without the acting or comic skills; well he has the comic skills but is totally oblivious to his clown act.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion.
Some years ago I read a couple of things Blinkov wrote: The only conclusion I came out with is that Blinkov is a fraud and a F_Wit. Glad Andre pointed that out to the public.
Today’s four-expert roundtable discussion will be part of what historians rely on in the future to describe these times. Thank you.
Fratricide makes no sense at all….so end the farce as quickly as possible with the least carnage and destruction. 50 to 100 missiles could take out all the major west ukie power substations, knocking down the power grid. No modern society functions in the dark without commerce, without communications, without internet, without transportation. The euroweanie satraps would be receiving another 10 million ukie refugees to further burden their welfare systems. Those ukies remaining would be stealing from each other, eating their pets within a week, and eating each other within a month. Yummy. Capitulation would be the only viable option. Can anyone here imagine a people foolish enough to willingly do the nato globo-homo-schlomo’s suicidal bidding? This isn’t Kabuki theater….just get it over with.
Destroying Civilian infrastructure is a war crime. Plain and simple.
Respecting such conventions is the difference between civilization and barbarism. Finally, it’s also what differentiates the honorable profession of atms from common criminals
Moral preeners like you disgust me; and are a big part of the problem on “our” side. What makes your arrogant and self-righteous attitude of one-sided moral purity particularly vile is that, most probably, you yourself have absolutely no skin in the game and feel free to virtue-signal from a comfortable location far away from any danger; while the people in Donetsk and border regions of Russia, as well as the brave Russian soldiers in the field, are paying the price IN BLOOD every day for the dumb and cowardly policy of fighting with one hand tied behind the back.
Spunkyhunk: “policy of fighting with one hand tied behind the back.”
Please don’t push forward this Vietnam era American myth. It is never such simple thing. The war in Ukraine is war against unipolar world and dollar hegemony (which are coming to their end point).
“Please don’t push forward this Vietnam era American myth.”
Fighting with one hand tied behind the back is not a “Vietnam era American myth” – it is just a Descriptive Linguistic Phrase No caps! Removed but any further to trash. Mod. that describes a certain state of affairs. You are engaging in dishonest rhetoric here (whether intentionally or unintentionally) by implying that a simple descriptive linguistic expression is an unreal “myth” just because it was used by Vietnam-era American military/political figures.
“It is never such simple thing.”
Actually yes, it Is a simple thing. In any serious fight/conflict situation, the side that fights with one hand tied behind the back will lose – or at the very least, be at a huge disadvantage – compared to the side that Doesn’t fight that way. If two boxers are in a ring and one of them has a hand tied behind his back while the other can punch with both hands, then it’s obvious who will lose. The only exception to this is if there is such a massive disparity in strength between the two sides that one of them can AFFORD to fight with one hand tied behind the back and still win (without suffering too much damage himself, of course!) However, this is clearly not the situation of Russia today in just the Russia vs. Ukraine case, much less, the Russia vs. Ukraine-plus-NATO-plus-Russo phobic-Europe one, which is what we Actually have right now.
“The war in Ukraine is war against unipolar world and dollar hegemony (which are coming to their end point)”
Again, Removed. Stop being personal. Mod. There is No direct connection between the military tactics that Russia needs to employ on the ground to win the actual physical war in Ukraine, and the “war” against such things as “unipolar world” and “dollar hegemony”, which are separate issues of much broader scope with economic, political, ideological, sociocultural etc. components – they are two Unrelated things. Moreover, If the unipolar world and dollar hegemony are “coming to their end point” ANYWAY, then how is the war in Ukraine necessary for the goal of ending them? And conversely, if the Ukraine war Is necessary for this goal, then how is Russia failing to win a crushing decisive victory, or more Russian soldier and Russian civilian lives being lost due to fighting with one hand tied behind the back going to Help with the realization of this goal?
I have had to get rid of a lot of capitals and personal attacks. Any further comments like this will just go to trash. Read the moderation policy. Mod.
Ant you never heard of Ali vs Frazier rope-a-dope?
Guess who won, the dope?
The biggest difference between Russia and the US is respect for international law and humanitarian action. The moral high ground is never wrong. The lack of morality on the US side is the reason the world is turnng against them.
The blood of Russian soldiers and civilians in Donbass is on the hands of the US. Massacring civilians is a western tactic – as we see in Ukros using civs as human shields and false flag attacks against them. This will never be Russian strategy, nor will the instigation of nuclear war.
So what you say is that Nato committed war crimes by destroying bridges, roads, civilian power plants in Serbia in 1999? Should we understand that Nato are barbarians? That Nato are common criminals?
I am confused :D
Yes to your first two questions. No to the third; NATO are war criminals, that is way more serious than being ‘common’ criminals.
In the absolute form you have stated it is tautologically true.
However, if armed combatants enter the “civilian infrastructure” and use it for combat purposes it loses its “civilian” designation and becomes a military target.
That is why it is expressly forbidden to use schools or hospitals or residential buildings as firing points or ammunition dumps or to locate artillery.
It is unfortunate that Ukrainian/NATO operators are so unaware of the ground rules
Well civilian infrastructure becomes military when its used for those Western weapons being transported from Poland,i am talking about railways and airports, the Russians could warn the Ukrainian people that those places are a target, people are being killed with those long range American missiles in Donbass,Russia should blast to hell any rail hubs near the Polish border.
Are you sure you spelt that right? Because the sort of “Shock and Awe” war crimes you advocate are pure u$a.
“We bombed until there was nothing left to bomb” — Uncle $cam, 1948.
“and eating each other within a month. Yummy.”
Again this American-talmudic satanism sermon. Go away.
Russian Senator Andrey Klishas: “Threats by the Ukrainian junta to attack Crimea or the Crimean bridge only confirm that denazification & demilitarization must be carried out in all of Ukraine, otherwise there will always be a threat to our territory, citizens & infrastructure.”
You are right, it should have been done since day or week one…
It will have to be done now or soon anyway. It has been decided de facto yesterday at the Security Council, according to Mercouris.
It says a lot…Shoigu on site in Ukr also.
Problem Putin is too moderate for nothing in return.
Lot of deads, wounded(mil and civilian) would have been avoided, destructions, massive sanctions, money and delivery of weapons (which will not stop now whatever the price).
Western politicians (mainly US of course but UK also) can not accept to lose face.Ever.
We are exactly in the very same situation as in Syria, no win, no lose, war going on forever, reconstruction impossible.Defeated ukrops will return on the other side of the Dniepr, prepare for or Nato entry (aka Poland), maybe in spring 2023?
Just replace ukronazis by jihadists and almost no difference.
Problem, Putin is far too predictable, the West is convinced he will never really retaliate (nukes), zero danger for Merika, if any loss will be for ”fuck the Eu” only..
And negociations, even capitulation, treaties whatever papers signed by ukro west will have zero value like Minsk or Nuke missiles treaties.
It is full occupation with pro RU power in Kiev which will require at least 100.000 non existing kind of ”police forces”(mp) let’ say + administration. This for years.
Borders must be closed (and they are very long).
Nato decided to go WWIII anyway, even if GOP win the vote in the midterms it will change very little as neocons doubled down the maximum before to be sure Republicans will do the same or be seen as traitors.
Which would mean defeat for the gop candidate in 2024.
They don’t care about the economy, just print more fake money and a perfect pretext to(after some hikes),to decrease the interest rates again.Inflation only for the poors.
West is bankrupted since Lehman 2008/2009, nothing to do with Ukraine, nobody cares about Ukraine.
This is Western ideological absolutism which has led the enslaved European populations to sink into this irrational and hysterical Russophobia where common sense and history, Peace and Ukraine are sacrificed on the altar of the military-industrial complex of a dying capitalism which desperately seeks in a suicidal headlong rush to reset its economic system, even if it means plunging the world into total chaos with no possible return.
Media totalitarianism of Western regimes does not help.
You are right, it should have been done since day or week one…
Some people just love to whinge about what Russia is or not doing. Fully regaining Lugansk is not good enough; nor gaining 30-50% of the oblasts in the east and south of the Ukraine, all the while keeping civilian casualties low. Not to mention re-orienteering Russia — politically, economically — away from the West, and laying the foundations of a new world order in the process.
But I’m sure you’re not one of the whingeing crowd. So go on, here’s your chance. Tell us exactly what Putin the Wimp should have ordered on 24 Feb. I’m all ears.
Russia should have gone in 8 years ago to finish the Kiev Regime, then they wouldn’t be fighting this war now with Ukraine more prepared, they have done the same in Syria, allowed the Western backed jihadis to concentrate in Idlib, they stopped the SAA from finishing the job in Idlib where tey were on a roll a couple of years ago and tried to do a deal with the Turks, thats worked out great,NOT.one way to hit back at the US would be to blast those illegal bases off the map in Syria,or give the weapons to people who will.
Clueless comment, 8 years ago Russia was not able to face the sanctions, ok?
8 years ago (2014) Russian economy was not ready to resist the inevitable sanctions.
Economy would have tanked, unlike now when diverse, robust and thriving.
Good rational analysis.
Desperately trying to invent new economy systems; FaceBook economy, Surveillance economy, Clima Change economy, CO2 economy, AI economy, Digitalisation economy, Corona economy, m.m.
“Problem, Putin is far too predictable, the West is convinced he will never really retaliate (nukes), zero danger for Merika, if any loss will be for ”fuck the Eu” only.”
Rather, Putin is arguably the most scary individual on the planet and definitely the most powerful, because he is allowed to be in the Russian political system. On January 6, the WH chauffeur would not obey pres. Trump when he told him to drive him to the Capitol. The chauffeur answered that they had to drive back to the WH and would do so. The report from all TV networks is that the poor president tried to get physical with the chauffeur at that point. Trump says this is a lie, but it could be true. Can you imagine? Well, who is the strongest president in the world? Big commenters (chuckle) like PCR write as if there were 10 SMOs on the planet, too, and this one were the weakest. There is nothing like the SMO on the planet right now. It weighs more everyday, not less. (This is not cheerleading.) The outcome of several elections are being determined also (…this can become scary later). The change in action and rhetoric of the last six months are “awful.” Many have gotten used to this change in rhetoric and actions – then they start looking at things upside down. If you don’t take the changes of 2022 into account, then your statement quoted is true. .
I don’t know all the (alleged) details on the Trump-limo driver scuffle, but what I do know is that the US President can be overruled by his US Secret Service detail if the detail lead feels that there is a threat to the safety of the President, and/or if there is insufficient security in the location.
Of course, the President can subsequently fire the individual(s), but “in the moment”, as it were, the President does not have the final say.
He has to dissimulate to fire him, I think. W. Bush himself related (in the Oprah Winfrey how) how the FED chairman Bernake spoke to him at the White House in 2008 during the crisis that the FED and others insisted required a bailout. It was like speaking to an underling. How come in Russia the security chauffeur can not do that? Simple answer. He (president) has more power. If the chaffeur can do that, it suggests that the president may not really have the power to press the nuclear button either. “Just like you didn’t know about the Capitol, you don’t know about this.” It may be a good thing.
“Trump says this is a lie, but it could be true.”
Trump says this is a lie, and so do the Secret Service agents involved, and they’ve stated their willingness to testify to that under oath.
Moreover, the scenario articulated by the “star witness” who made these allegations against Trump is physically impossible – the President’s location (and he IS the President) in the limo precludes his being able to physically accost the person up front driving the vehicle.
As if he’d have the motivation to even try, in any case.
So – in short – if this allegation “could be true”, so could Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy. Then again, with the current fake administration running the USA, anything is possible, even if it’s not.
But don’t be sad – we have a fake lying government here in Australia too, and so does France and Italy etc etc. Seems to be a pattern.
Military history is full over endless hype for new wonder weapons. And this hype and bandwagon mostly run by ignorant politicians, media, armchair generals and their pathetic sheep.
“We bombed until there was nothing left to bomb”
If thinking of WW2 the pale fact is bombing campaign never really destroyd German and Japanese war production. Actually after Marianas (July 1944) great majority of Japanese links to raw material sources were cut off. Also German war production reached its maximum production in July 1944. Bombing destroyd some of capacity of producing even more. The decline after July 1944 was moderate. In Jan 1945 Germans produced still more than in summer of 1943. Destruction of synthetic aviation fuel production was greatest achievement but generally Germany was never “totally bombed that there was nothing left to bomb”. John Kenneth Galbraith remembered how “surprisingly large parts of Germany were in rather good shape” in summer 1945.
The Russians also increased their war production greatly (and had been increasing it already before the war). This is the key which I guess maybe all historians ignore. They look at Lend-Lease above all. The Germans in WWII knew that the Russians were more than replacing their destroyed weapons. “But communism does not produce greatly!” In war it does.
The quote may stem from the Korean war 1950 -1953, possibly citing general Douglas MacArthur, who asked Pentagon for atom bombs, or Air Force general Curtis LeMay, I think it was LeMay. There was nothing left standing in the north, no buildings, no huts, no shelters, no cities. Millions were killed, 20 % of the population a conservative estimate. The North Koreans remember. Their children learn history.
Andrei….why do you let this Blinko guy get under your skin? Probably not one in a thousand of your followers on this blog have even heard of Blinko’s Battlegrounds or gives a goddamn about them..
Chill out….stay above the fray.
With grateful thanks for being a constant fount of insight…….
Anyone in the US who has risen above the indoctrination knows that the CIA/intelligence ‘community’ isn’t trying to ‘mess w/ Putin’s mind” w/ their constant lies & misinformation, but rather the minds of the US population (and the populations of Europe and other “allies,” ie countries whose ruling classes are installed /maintained to assure US Capital’s demands are met).
Another thing besides “intelligence officials” found in crap churned out by US official media & other hacks & hangers’-on that can often be immediately dismissed because it means lies/propaganda is “anonymous officials” (though occasionally actually factual for manipulative purposes).
If Americans weren’t so effectively brainwashed they’d have been in the streets long ago overthrowing the corrupt b**tards who live so well off the work & destruction of so many…
Martyanov’s technical military analyses are very informative, and in these difficult times uplifting too.
His valuable expositions would be even easier to listen to if he could refrain from using base profanities. The fact that this ought to be a discourse among well educated people quite aside, the back street language that he habitually resorts to hardly contributes to conveying ideas.
I went to this Blinkov’s Battlegrounds Utubes and was very disappointed to find that there wasn’t a single video about NATO’s deadliest wunderwaffen. How does an outstanding group of analysts such as these miss the strategic value of the Snuke? Why are such clowns employed by the alphabet agency’s psychological warefare department? Pathetic, unless this is some sort of Monty Python like humor.
4 plus months passed; still hard and bloody fightings all over the frontline; ours just liberated Peski, 15 min by tanks from the Donetsk boulevards; no large cauldron on Donbass ever happened; nobody in Kiev are in need of their military industrial complex, because the whole NATO one is at their service; our enemy’ logistic is pretty much fine; the war seems to be long; but the best militay thinker after Sun Tzu and Clausewitz, i.e.Martyanov, is still suspiciously overoptimistic concerning the war’ problems – and, yep, very entertaining, to the cheers of his numerous lucky fans. Any wonder, his popularity over here in Russia is slightly above zero? Ah, yeah, Martyanov destroyed 80-85 percents of the UAF in two weeks, proudly proclaiming it, March 15 ))))
