Interesting stuff today. A major Russian TV channel just aired a report about Putin meeting with his top military commanders. I don’t have the time to translate what Putin said word for word, but basically he said that the USA had refused every single Russian offer to negotiate about the US anti-missile system in Europe and that while the US had initially promised that the real target of this system was Iran, now that the Iranian nuclear issue had been solved, the US was still deploying the system. Putin added that the US was clearly attempting to change the world’s military balance. And then the Russian footage showed this:
According to the Kremlin was mistakenly leaked secret document. And just to make sure that everybody got it, RT wrote a full article in English about this in an article entitled “‘Assured unacceptable damage’: Russian TV accidentally leaks secret ‘nuclear torpedo’ design“. According to RT
The presentation slide titled “Ocean Multipurpose System: Status-6” showed some drawings of a new nuclear submarine weapons system. It is apparently designed to bypass NATO radars and any existing missile defense systems, while also causing heavy damage to “important economic facilities” along the enemy’s coastal regions. The footnote to the slide stated that Status-6 is intended to cause “assured unacceptable damage” to an adversary force. Its detonation “in the area of the enemy coast” would result in “extensive zones of radioactive contamination” that would ensure that the region would not be used for “military, economic, business or other activity” for a “long time.” According to the blurred information provided in the slide, the system represents a massive torpedo, designated as “self-propelled underwater vehicle,” with a range of up to 10 thousand kilometers and capable of operating at a depth of up to 1,000 meters.
Actually, such ideas are nothing new. The late Andrei Sakharov had already proposed a similar idea to basically wipe out the entire US East Coast. The Russians have also look into the possibility to detonate a nuclear device to set off the “Yellowstone Caldera” and basically destroy most of the USA in one shot. While in the early years following WWII the Soviets did look into all sort of schemes to threaten the USA with destruction, the subsequent development of Soviet nuclear capabilities made the development of this type of “doomsday weapons” useless. Personally, I don’t believe for one second that the Russians are now serious about developing such system as it would be literally a waste of resources. So what is going on here?
This so-called “leak” of “secret documents” is, of course, no leak at all. This is a completely deliberate action. To imagine that a Russian journalist could, just by mistake, film a secret document (helpfully held up for him by a general) and then just walk away, get it passed his editor and air it is laughable. Any footage taken in a meeting of the President with his senior generals would be checked many times over. No, this was a deliberate way to remind the USA that if they really are hell-bent on spending billions of dollars in a futile quest to create some kind of anti-missile system Russia could easily develop a cheap weapon system to still threaten the USA with total annihilation. Because, make no mistake, the kind of long range torpedo being suggested here would be rather cheap to build using only already existing technologies. I would even add that rather than setting such a weapon off the US coast the system could also be designed to fire off a secondary missile (ballistic or cruise) which could then fly to any inland target. Again, such technologies already exist in the Russian military and have even been deployed on a smaller scale. See for yourself:
Coming back to the real world, I don’t believe for one second that any type of anti-missile system could be deployed in Europe to shield NATO the EU or the US from a Russian retaliatory strike should the Empire ever decide to attack Russia. All the East Europeans are doing is painting a cross-hair on themselves as these will be the very first targets to be destroyed in case of a crisis. How? By use of special forces first and, if needed, by Iskander missile strikes if all else fails. But the most likely scenario is that key components of the anti-missile system will suddenly experience “inexplicable failures” which will render the entire system useless. The Russians know that and so do the Americans. But just to make sure that everybody got the message the Russians have now shown that even a fully functional and survivable US anti-missile system will not protect anybody from a Russian retaliation.
The sad thing is that US analysts all fully understand that but they have no say in a fantastically corrupt Pentagon. The real purpose of the US program is not to protect anybody against a non-existing Russian threat, but to dole out billions of dollars to US corporations and their shareholders. And if in the process the US destabilizes the entire planet and threatens the Russians – then “to hell with ’em Russikes! We are the indispensable nation and f**k the rest of the planet!” Right?
What happened today is a gentle reminder of that.
maybe Rus is showing USA up over its plans to have thousands of new sensors/detectors in oceans
“In response to reports that there was a Russian submarine found in Sweden, Prime Minister Dvorkovich said while visiting the World Chess Championship in Sochi that “we have no information about submarines in waters near Sweden; we concentrate on what we are best at: chess.”
and no wonder Rus is responding? to
“U.S. has watched for the last several months as Russian submarines in deep water have come close to the undersea cables. The Navy proposals are evidence that “the U.S. military views Russian submarine activity in the Atlantic as both an immediate risk and an emerging long-term threat,” said Tom Spahn, a Navy reservist who writes on undersea warfare issues. The U.S. Navy wants to upgrade its ability to detect Russian submarines in response to assertive naval moves by President Vladimir Putin. Earlier this month, the top U.S. Navy commander publicly addressed the rise in Russian submarine operations.
A Russian intelligence ship, capable of cutting undersea communications cables and other sensors, has been spotted by the U.S. military off the coast of Kings Bay, Ga., home to the U.S. Navy?s East Coast ballistic missile submarine fleet. Defense officials familiar with reports on the Russian ship say the Yantar is believed to be gathering intelligence on underwater sensors and other equipment used by U.S. nuclear submarines based at Kings Bay, Georgia.
U.S. intelligence ships, aircraft, and satellites are closely watching a Russian military vessel in the Atlantic that has been sailing near a U.S. nuclear missile submarine base and underwater transit routes, according to Pentagon officials.
Data on Russian submarines probably would be distributed to Navy vessels such as the new Littoral Combat Ship equipped with an antisubmarine warfare module, as well as frigates and surveillance aircraft, including the P-3 Orion and P-8 Poseidon. “The proficiency and operational tempo of the Russian submarine force is increasing,” according to Adm. That, however, doesn?t rule out increased Russian submarine patrols in the Barents and Norwegian seas, the western Pacific and Sea of Okhotsk, the analyst said. Chirkov, the ‘intensity’ of Russian submarine patrols has risen by almost 50% over the last year,” Ferguson told an audience in Washington.
On the heels of the unprecedented proximity of 5 Chinese naval ships in the Bering Sea, U.S. military satellites have been tracking a Russian spy ship – capable of cutting undersea communications cables and other sensors – since it was spotted in the north Atlantic last month off the coast of Kings Bay, Ga., home to the U.S. Navy’s East Coast ballistic missile submarine fleet. Steffan Watkins, a Canadian-based open-source intelligence analyst who monitors Russian ship movements, said the Russian navy sends such auxiliary vessels to the region once or twice a year to check on existing U.S. underwater sensors or cables that have been detected previously. ”
because new Rus submarines are apparently near silent……………..
America sounds like it is soiling its panties that Russia (and China) are operating in international waters close to the USA.
This is called getting a taste of your own medicine.
Americans believe they have a God-Given right to send their warships close to Russia, China, or Iran. In fact, they ludicriously claim they are only doing to so uphold “freedom of navigation” or some such pretext, when in fact it is military in purpose.
But God forbid if Russia, China, or Iran send their ships close to the American Fatherland, the USA will not be so happy about it.
That’s the double standards and hypocrisy of the self-proclaimed Exceptional, Indispensible Leader of the Free World.
So, if all the world powers engage in this kind of behavior, are they each proclaiming their own ‘Exceptionality’ and ‘Indespensibility’? Or does this kind of name-calling happen because of a perceived notion of primacy? If Russian subs are near silent, then who knows who is patrolling where and for how long.
If the USA doesn’t like the Russian Navy near our shores, perhaps they should remove their missiles and troops and drone headquarters etc. from Europe and the doorstep of Russia.
Just more of sauce for the goose NOT being sauce for the gander.
It it continues this way, soon everyone goose will be cooked.
If the missile shield is no good, Putin doesn’t need to worry.
If Putin is trying to negotiate removal of the missile shield and convince them that he can hurt them anyway, it looks like Putin IS worried.
You are trying very hard to have it both ways in your article, but its logically confusing.
I personally always thought the shield is total crap, until right now. Why is Putin so worried about it?
Putin have political reasons. He is pointing out the US as a hostile country to Russia for the russian people…And Putin as almost always, is spot on…US is a hostile country for the rest of the world, Russia included. Of course the shield is total crap but does the US politicians understand that? Pentagon knows it’s crap but do they tell Washington the truth, that all the money they spent on the shield is wasted?
Benny, the US elite are hostile to their own people, but, unfortunately, the US public are the most successfully and thoroughly brainwashed population in history, and remain jingoistic patriots even as ‘their’ country treats them like excrement.
As far as I can tell, Americans are wary of both US elites and the aggressive US foreign policy. It’s a little basic to create a duality between US elites and everyone else, especially if the everyone category is glossed over with a blanket summary about ‘brainwashing’. That’s not only wrong, it’s unpersuasive. I would choose “easily distracted” or, perhaps, “asinine and lazy” as a placeholder insult.
If US decision makers believe that the shield will work, they will be tempted to launch a first strike against Russia. So long as the shield exists Russia will be under an increased threat of a US first strike.
“Why is Putin so worried about it?”
Because, if the US keeps on working on its ABM system, it may just learn what the Russians already know, and have built in to the S500 system.
“…US might learn what Russians already know…”
From a Russian TV news channel you think ?
Anonymous, I thought there is an upgrade about to be deployed. If so, Maybe that’s more serious.
The way things are going, it seems the US will attempt an attack on Russia. Letting the US public know that their ABM missile systems in Europe will not save them may bring a bit more pressure on the crazies that are running the US.
“… I personally always thought the shield is total crap, until right now. Why is Putin so worried about it? …”
Good observation. That has been the situation ever since the U.S. announced their placement of a “missile shield” in Europe. Lavrov had at one point even proposed to the (unwilling) Americans to sign a “legal” agreement not to target these missiles at Russia, which in itself sounded a bit strange. However, in a brief personal correspondence F. William Engdahl told me four years ago that such a written agreement would make practical sense, as it would also involve full disclosure and co-participation in operating (i.e., it would include safeguards, much as SALT treaty and other similar treaties between the US and USSR did).
The bottom line is, that Russia apparently has taken the threat from the US missile shield quite seriously.
How will Russia militarily counter such a threat is a separate question.
The problem is not Putin thinking the shield could work, but the crazies in the US and Europe who would launch a war thinking it could work.
Putin isn’t worried about this at all. It is aimed at the Europeans who need to grow some balls and tell the U.S. military, a.k.a., NATO, that they are sitting ducks who are being destroyed in an attempt to destroy the RF. Because it is recognized that the U.S. is scared that, should modern Russia and Europe, especially Germany, get back on economic cooperation, the U.S. economy is irrelevant. This revelation gives Europe the argument that the U.S. needs to get out of their countries as their anti-Russian “defense” is worthless.
Nobody should push back against a proven Hegemon that is sanctioning, surrounding, poking, trashing their currency and villifying them at every opportunity?
I think that’s a very weak argument.
and since when on earth , an indirect simple “show of a means of deterrance” is a sign of worry?
No logic step can lead to this conclusion. It is a false dilemman to say enemy´s weapon is either ” good or no-good”.
It may be harmful to an extent and make the enemy tempted to use it.
And conversely, why did the pentagonites last week launch a Trident multi-targeting missile above Los Angeles at night to make sure it were seen and photographed by ‘n’ people?
Was it because the empire was ‘worried’ from the russian aviation strikes in the middle east which after all are ‘no-good’ as a significan threaten?
Putin is not “worried”. The Russians understand that while the system is useless in military terms, it is perfect to further strengthen the US colonial grip on Europe and, especially, eastern Europe. It is also a clearly a political provocation with the Kremlin cannot ignore.
It’s part of negotiations for the new norm, Cold War 2.0 or NWO — whatever it’s called.
If it’s crap, and I’m sure it’s useless, then Russia will use it as leverage.
Russia has grievances which must be addressed. Putin is making the point.
The ‘missile shield’ is useless against a Russian first-strike, It is intended to clean up any Russian land-based missiles that survive a sneak US first-strike, which is integral to US Strategic Doctrine. The USSR then Russia have always denounced ‘missile defence’ as integral to a US first-strike aggression, and by no means ‘defensive’.
“I personally always thought the shield is total crap, until right now. Why is Putin so worried about it?”
Perhaps resort to binaries is not illuminating?
Perhaps speculations are holograms?
Russia is resuming (probably in next year) production of railway based nuclear missile system. USA so called “missile shield”, which is actually short range offensive preempitve strike system aimed at Russia, can’t do nothing with this highly mobile missle platform hidden in normal cargo train.

How right he was!
Look at the often quoted reports of Russian General Arsene de Goulevitch, who witnessed the Bolshevik Revolution firsthand:
“The main purveyors of funds for the revolution were neither the crackpot Russian millionaires nor the armed bandits of Lenin. The ‘real’ money primarily came from certain British and American circles which for a long time past had lent their support to the Russian revolutionary cause… I have been told that over 21 million rubles were spent by Lord [Alfred] Milner in financing the Russian Revolution…
“reports from local observers and journalists in Petrograd in 1917 of British and American agents handing out 25-rouble notes to soldiers of the Pavlovski regiment just before they mutinied and joined the revolution. De Goulevitch also named Sir George Buchanan, the British Ambassador to Russia at the time, as one of the main players in financing what was effectively an early ‘color revolution’ in Russia. As Jennings C. Wise has written, “Historians must never forget that Woodrow Wilson… made it possible for Leon Trotsky to enter Russia with an American passport.”
I am sure that the Russians think today the same as General Adrian hundreed years ago. A full century of confirmations.
Beware of poisoned gift bearing British.
Agreed. When I saw this during my daily morning visit to RT, I saw the big spread and felt it being an explanation point to the Vienna Proclamation, reminding the Outlaw Empire it is no longer in charge of affairs in Southwest Asia. Then when visiting TASS, I saw this item that contained a message differing from what the headline said, which I felt an interesting play on words and prior actions, http://tass.ru/en/politics/835896
Sputnik’s running an article about the F-35 costing half the Air Force’s budget,http://sputniknews.com/military/20151112/1029996283/f35-us-air-force-budget.html
Talk about redistributing money upward or taxpayer rape on steroids!
The leak was clearly deliberate. Not sure I agree with The Saker that this weapons system is useless and would not be developed. That they went to the trouble of leaking this in a high level meeting with Putin suggests otherwise. There are many other ways to credibly leak such information. This is probably and option that is genuinely under consideration.
Nuclear supremacy has always been the main goal of American (in reality, the western oligarchs) nuclear war strategy. They had to put nuke supremacy on hold in the 1960’s and accept the reality of MAD for a couple of decades due to the tech necessary for it being beyond then current reach. Now that the tech has caught up with the strategic planning, nuclear supremacy is again the main strategy, as part of the ZPC/NWO full spectrum dominance goal of total, unopposed world domination. The money the MIC will make, while always a factor, is subservient to this strategic goal.
Exactly right! I read that article and came to precisely the same conclusion you did and I was going to post a comment on it here but I was tired and thought of doing it later.
This is why what Russia is doing in Syria is so critical. Many people probably ask themselves: Why is Russia intervening there; what does Russia stand to gain? The answer is simple: balance of power not only for Russia’s sake but for everyone’s sake, because without it we have one world central power ruling the planet. Without it we have the so-called white hats thinking they can demonize whichever nation they feel like demonizing and invading and taking over and expanding the Empire. Without balance of power we are doomed, because the next country they invade be it Iran, China or Russia; they will trigger a World War like we’ve never witnessed that will set the world back to 1929 or worse, much worse.
So, you are right and this was a nudge this was an uncoded message/clear signal: Stop escalating or we will press the balance reset button that will ensure you spend decades catching up.
Updated as per your request.
Circe a war between the USA and Russia and China would, inevitably, if only because of US strategic escalation doctrine, go thermo-nuclear, and that will set us back twenty million years or so, if any upright, uptight, upstart apes even survive.
What we need is an honest appraisal of the capabilities of the US missile shield that is currently being installed. It is totally clear that the missile shield is directed against Russia. To what extent it would be effective seems to be far less clear. The Russian leadership, for its part, seems to be genuinely worried, otherwise it would not have taken a step as unusual as the one we have seen. More generally, there seems to be a pattern developing where Russian statements do appear to be carry less credibility than what the Americans say, as we have always been hearing the mantra of the latest Russian system being able to break through any conceivable defense. So, if that were true, then why put up such a theater?
As for the technical part, why an intercontinental torpedo should be useless begs an explanation. It might be rather the opposite. For once, a large torpedo could easily carry a large, multi-megaton payload, which would make it effective even if defenses required to detonate it far from shore. There have also been considerable advances regarding ultra-quiet, long endurance fuel cell technology for submarines. Using such a propulsion system would provide it with the range and stealthiness required to let it reach its target. Russia could station a number of these torpedoes in concealed positions close to its shoreline. They could be equipped with inhibitory activation systems: If a regularly scheduled inhibitory signal fails to occur often enough – such as after a nuclear first strike – then the torpedoes launch themselves. It would be a doomsday device, but it might just work.
Even the ABM shield can be overwhelmed with decoys, let alone that Russian ICBMs come down on earth at more than 20 Mach.
The problem with the American plans for an ABM shield is that they enhance the US policy of tension, and also entangle Europe even more into the geopolitical designs of the US Empire.
It is also a perfect opportunity to demonstrate to western audiences that NATO is the aggressor abd that at the same time, Russia has many ways to counter this aggression.
Stavros, the strategy of tension is absolutely central to global elite rule. The Empire must ALWAYS have EVIL ENEMIES to keep the proles frightened and forestall any prospect of global amity and co-operation.
More strategy of tension in Paris,
the US has inflated a huge military balloon. The Russian response is to design a needle. Of course, the US reaction will be to further inflate the balloon.
You wrote that a Russian never threatens, but I think this is one very clear – the only readable doc in the video. I think Putin always very carefully weighs his steps – so what is going on behind the scenes, that this needs to be shown _now_?
The subject of the meeting at which the blueprint was shown was US deployment of the “defense” shield, so I suppose it’s imminent. Also it’s still possible that US intends partitioning kurdistan from Syria. Any attempt to do this is apt to employ a no-fly.
It’s a domestic money maker and also protection racket on this side of the Atlantic to intimidate the Europeans who will accept these “protective” systems and arrangements. Glad it’s not working to create quite the intended atmosphere. Obviously very small penises and all that.

In the Theatre of the Absurd, sometimes the leading actors need to be reminded they are not the only players, and scripts can be adjusted/re-written.
If that is the case, then why not conduct a test that shows that existing weapons will penetrate existing defenses?
Iskander against S-400 anyone?
Expensive, and also could give away more technical information than would be advisable?
They may have? We don’t know for sure.
eimar, the Western elite are self-made men who worship their Creator.
There’s an important piece by Rostislav Ischenko about this whole balance of power business.
He is speaking, too, from a different point of view, of factions. Of one group of the power structure who wants to go on trying to conquer the world, and another which is more pragmatic.
As my own personal aside (not from the article), I think that it’s possible that Ashton Carter is also in the Obama-headed group that wants to step back from neocon madness. One wd never know it from Carter’s neocon rhetoric. But his actions are another matter. He got out ahead of the whole neocon faction with his extreme statements, so that it appeared he was going to implement their views w some really aggressive action. And then ta-da his big aggressive action: He put up to 50 men on the ground. We were all afraid he was going to implement the Brookings Institution plan, that he would use them to call in air support to protect the “moderates” with which they were embedded– thus forming areas of no-fly. But it hasn’t happened. It’s still possible the US may go for a northern partition of “Kurdistan” out of Syria, but I haven’t seen any signs of it so far.
Here’s a clip that demonstrates how much Obama is inhibiting the neocons, notwithstanding the neocon rhetoric:
“Carter’s top Russia policy official, Evelyn Farkas, who resigned recently, said this month the Pentagon was still pushing for arming the Ukrainians but had been repeatedly overruled by the White House.
“Pentagon waited for months for the White House to approve a “freedom of navigation” exercise in the South China Sea. When the Pentagon was allowed to conduct the operation, the White House placed several restrictions on the mission to minimize the risk of confrontation with the Chinese. For example, the U.S. ship was not allowed to turn on sensors or fly its helicopters, actions that military experts say would have made clearer that the U.S. was conducting a freedom of navigation operation.
“Pentagon officials at the forum told me the White House also forbade Pentagon officials from talking publicly about the operation, but Carter confirmed it when pressed by senators at a hearing last week.”
Senator graham wants to shoot down russian planes in Syria?
S-400 in Latakia?
If it is the S-400, it is to protect against attack from F-22 Raptors, as it seems the S-300 is capable of fending off everything else.
Al Qaeda and ISIS defences starting to crumble in Syria.
And “leaking” the “top secret” plans? All this since the downing of the Metrojet.
Sounds like the US is close to lashing out.
I think that the US ‘lashed out’ when the Russian plane was brought down.
My son’s math professor at UC was hired by the government when the missile shield was proposed to give his opinion. After he told them it could never work because all you needed to defeat it was one more missile than there was defense for, he was fired. Not what they wanted to hear. Reminds me of the war games to prepare for an invasion of Iran where a wise-guy playing on the Iran side launched all his missiles at once and won the game.
This thing might already be standard inventory in stock with the ‘leak’ just a way of ‘if you got it, flaunt it’ without appearing to threaten or brag. Recall that missile with a range of 400 miles that went 1,500 from Caspian to to Syria. Understatement seems to be a specialty of Russia.
The Kaliber’s range was never a secret nor limited to 400mi, you maybe confusing it the midrange model. It was publicly known in open sources that the Kaliber’s range was at least 1500.
I have always thought that the idea of delivering a weapon to your opponent at the outbreak of hostilities is a little short-sighted and prone to obvious countermeasures.
Why not container ship/Fedex all the parts incrementally and have it essentially in place -with suitable safeguards of course?
The same for the fear of placing bombs/shooting down airliners giving rise to the largely futile security theatrics aimed at passengers. Why go to all the technical trouble when there’s a blindingly obvious bypass that requires little technology and just a few saps?
Part of my past on a very insignificant micro level has been to think about such eventualities and mitigate/prevent them. I can’t be the first to have thought about them and there are doubtless many that have eluded my sadly limited horizontal thinking brain.
Let us put it another way:
‘no good’ for Russians is any weapon system that my cause them loss and damage. They show they can counter it ahead of facts.
“very good’ for the yankees is precisely any action, weapon or simply “attributed intention” of Putin to act internationally: all that is pretty welcome for the Pentagon to obtain an additional hundred billion arms budget.
It will never happen .. I agree with a previous comment they just do it for money; kill the funders that is the end of terrorism simple.. or am I wrong please proof me wrong.
Something very rotten is going on in the pentagon and the US DOD. I believe they and the CIA are actually the drivers behind the confrontation with Russia. The pentagon to this day remains the only department of the US government that has so far refused to be audited. That means since 1996 the over $8 trillion of taxpayers money that congress has awarded to the pentagon has never been audited or accounted for.
There was a recent news story carried in the papers that the pentagon spent $43 million building a gas station in Afghanistan that should have cost no more than $500,000 :
“The gas station project in Sheberghan consisted of two dispensers and four hoses, a CNG trailer filling point, an office building, and compression and processing equipment.
The Pentagon originally awarded the contractor Central Asian Engineering $3 million to build the gas station. The project ended up costing $42,718,739 and took three years to complete.
The vast majority of spending went towards overhead costs. Only $12.3 million were recorded as direct costs, while $30 million went to overhead”.
$30 million to “overheads” ? This is just the tip of a very large iceberg. The American taxpayer is being literally taken to the cleaners big time by these mafia dons on steroids. We find out today that the F-35 turkey is going to account for half of the air force budget. Lets cast our minds back to September 10, 2001, when Donald Rumsfeld announced that the pentagon was unable to account for $2.3 trillion of tax payers money. That was all soon forgotten about the following morning.
Bottom line is this, these psychopaths are in too deep now for there to be any option other than war to save their necks, this is the supposition from which we must all proceed. There is no other way for them to cover up their massive criminality and atrocities than to plunge the world into war.
truth, Sheberghan was where the USA organised the massacre of hundreds of captured Taliban, sealed up in airtight containers and left out in the sun to bake to death, in 2001. Another day, another atrocity, in the Real Evil Empire’s progress.
In Spain these security leaks do not occur, because we have….. “Jomland” security……
The proximity of the shield to Russia is the danger. Close in the US can launch from behind it. The closer they move the shield toward Russia the more effective.
So, too, the more weapons the US moves around Russia’s borders the stronger the impulse in the warmongers to start something. Miscalculations in the ultimate case on the side of the aggressor will force Russia to use all its counter-strike and everyone dies.
Best to stop the US from insanity now, at distance, not later when it may be an hour too late.
Russia is dealing with lunatics in the Atlanticists. Many of them are “analysts, Senators, generals, and media bozos. But they all hate Russia and fear lose of hegemony over the vassals.
It isn’t about corporate or making money. It is about dominance.
Yes, anglos get a weird satisfaction in bullying others even if it gies against their sekf interests.
Such bullying after getting dominance so that theybcan not be avenged is the main goal of England and its 5 evil eyes.
RR, ‘Full Spectrum Dominance’. They are, without any doubt, florid psychopaths to a man, and flowers of Western Womanhood like Clinton, Albright, Powers, Rice etc
Work out great circle trajectories from Sibera to Wasington. The go nowhere near the shield in Poland. Shield may protect Germany UK or France though.
When balancing power, those who choose to resist imperialism and U.S financial domination must put away petty differences for the common good. Russia can’t do this alone; so nations that want to neutralize a global hierarchy need to show convincing solidarity with Russia. I’m not sure if all BRICS members are committed to reining in U.S./Israel/UK hegemony. Seems to me that India is often on the fence. Iran and Russia must work towards solidifying cooperation. Strengthening alliances is critical to solidifying balance of power and presenting a formidable front and a strong deterrent and check to imperial hegemony without exclusively relying on nuclear weapons.
According to legend, Ronald Reagan caused the fall of the Soviet Union by going forward with the Strategic Defense Initiative, something so innovative that no centrally planned could hope to counter. Decades later, true to the genius of their national spirit, the Russian Federation returned the favor with something a bit more modest and cost effective…….
I don’t quite get that last part.
Yes, I realise that it’s all being driven, in the main, by the MIC, who are making mega-bucks from all the crisis, stirring, and so forth, going on.
But ” The real purpose of the US program is not to protect anybody against a non-existing Russian threat, but to dole out billions of dollars to US corporations and their shareholders. And if in the process the US destabilizes the entire planet and threatens the Russians – then “to hell with ‘em Russikes! We are the indispensable nation and f**k the rest of the planet!” Right?”
What’s the point, what use are all their mega-bucks going to be if there’s no-where on a smouldering cinder devoid of life to spend them?
Surely to God they can see that? Or..not?
“Surely to God they can see that? Or..not?”
To see is not the only action possible, and the world and phenomena within/upon it are analogue not binary.
To ignore is another possible action, and the world and phenomena within/upon it are analogue not binary, although some may believe that ignoring is not seeing..
The world and phenomena upon/within it interact laterally hence sole or even prime agency does not exist.
Perhaps a more illuminating framing of your comment could be:
What significance for my purpose would the perception of my opponents have?
Playing in linear paradigms is not usually conducive to well-being.
For those attracted to triangulation.
Problem is the US has too many think tanks.. The look at countries after WW2 which lost large percentage of their population and extrapolate their development.. They think 25% loss is acceptable if they can destroy the other side..
Without taking into account that in that 25% would be 99% of the people who are highly educated and the ones who actually do 99.99% of exceptional work.. They only look at the 7% that is left who are basically eunuchs, inbreeds, bikers and tin foil hatters as okay.. They will rebuild.. Except it would be a giant commune of cults and communes like the caliphate. Grenada would be able to conquer such a country who’s development would be like a banana republic. No more super power and the entire world order destroyed and most of the human population would die out in the following decade. The exceptional nation would be ruling what???? There wont be any trade, no need for travel or business and Libya would look advanced.
How fast we forget the difference between 1990 and 2015.. The 90’s were not bad.. But the level of advancement in 25 years is such that people from 2015 would find it very difficult to live in the 90’s let alone the 70’s or 40’s.. Planet of the apes look really great in movies.. but lack of toilet paper would destroy peoples lives.. All the satellites would be destroyed and it will take a centaury or more to get any more up. The technology needed after such a scenario would be like 100 years of advancement from now, let alone from the 19th centaury. Would we even get there? The hurdles would be so high because first we have overcome a lot of the problems we created to get to this point. We have to fix that first before we can even begin to start over.. Are these guys even considering those scenarios? Or more like when Libya develops space travel would be when humanity can rebuild to current level of technology and human development. If solving some of the problems in the world is beyond current technology, we would need exponentially more advanced technology to progress back to where we were. 500 years after tamerlane, you cant find many Christians in areas of his conquests.. This time, there wont be any people at all in those areas..
Maybe the 0.00001% dont care as long as they are on top.
OK, so the “leak” completely invalidates the ostensible rationale for the ABM system, but does nothing to invalidate the real reason, which is to line the pockets of MIC honchos.
Saker, there’s just one thing that I would like to also say about the amount of money (taxpayer pool) that is being spent in the USA, needlessly, on this nuclear defense…
You say its all going to the defense industry…
But, as the last weeks have shown…$500 million on 5 moderate rebel-terrorists – ????
Gee, do you think some of it is being siphoned off ?
Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery said once:
´Rule 1, on page 1 of the book of war, is: “Do not march on Moscow”. Various people have tried it, Napoleon and Hitler, and it is no good. That is the first rule.´
I say: It is so much easier to make peace with Russians. OK, you may facing problems with drinking huge amounts of vodka. But that will be well-compensated by the overwhelming Russian hospitality…
As a German I urge you seriously: Do not mess with Russians! 27 Millions of them died for the freedom of Germany and whole Europe. Do not let that heritage get wasted!
What kind of threatens? What kind of terrible secretly infos? All this is online since 2012: http://militaryrussia.ru/blog/topic-708.html and http://militaryrussia.ru/blog/index-1064.html
Whenever I read of Russian torpedo weapons, I’m reminded of the Shkval (and the descendants of the original design).
We’re “told” the German Barracuda is more advanced than the Shkval E variant, yet the Germans had to buy the originals from Russia, didn’t they . . . . . .
The potential combination of VERY long range underwater, with a guided (Shkval-E) supercavitating final stage, would certainly be an “interesting” weapon for many reasons.
This is old technology. Not only Eastern Coast. Also Western. The capital would be Chicago then.
Russia: We Didn’t Mean to Show Everyone Our Massive New Nuclear Torpedo
Government newspaper Rossiskaya Gazeta described details of the weapon, calling it a “robotic mini-submarine”, and suggested it could be loaded with a highly destructive “dirty” cobalt bombs.
During the meeting, Putin was speaking about US and NATO plans for a global anti-missile defense system, calling them “an attempt to undermine the existing parity in strategic nuclear weapons and essentially to upset the whole system of global and regional stability.” In response, Putin said during the meeting that Russia will develop weapons that could penetrate any missile shield in the world.
Given the fact that the US physical economy has been sacrificed for Wall Streets appetite for gambling, and being so, the actual physical well being of a significant portion of the US population has fallen dramatically with horrific consequences due to post industrial entropic policies of the past 50 years, any spending of “money” to finance ridiculous defense systems is disgusting. This neo con ” having to have an enemy image of Russia and/or China as a reason for its political existence” is aiding and enabling the known murderer Obama in his push for confrontation. The belief of the Obama cabal that a nuclear war can be limited and won is reckless and insane. Pres. Putin is handling this crisis with great restraint. A lesser man would have allowed his nation to be provoked into such an extinction event. This released Intel on this unerwater weapon was no mistake; simply Putin playing it cool but at the same time very, very serious. I pray that the move to remove Obama from office and shutdown Wall Street happens very soon lest Obama, the British stooge and murderer, gets his way.
“Putin playing it cool but at the same time very, very serious.”
Perhaps you are restricting the qualities and resolve to too few people?
This is not a side effect, this is the point. It for the same reason the US was so determined Canada use nuclear tipped air-air missiles for NORAD in the 60s, even though conventional warheads were just as effective and much less costly, or that Germany have US nuclear weapons stationed on their territory even though US ballistic submarines make this entirely pointless from a military point of view. The US want to make sure that if they are going down Canada, Europe, Australia are all going down with them
