ISIS members retreated from the town of Shajarah and the villages of As`arah and Ma`rabah east of the Golan Heights under pressure from Syrian government forces. Thus, the terrorist group remained in control of only 3 villages in the area.
According to pro-government sources, there are less than 200 ISIS members hiding in Kuwayyah, Beit Arah and Qusayr. With the liberation of these villages, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) will be able to declare full control of the contact line with the Israeli-held area, and southern Syria in general.
The key problem of the advance in the Yarmouk valley is that an unknown number of ISIS fighters and ISIS-linked individuals are hiding among civilians in the recently liberated areas. Without additional security measures, these persons will be a source of constant threat of terrorist attacks.
The same problem is currently observed in eastern al-Suwayda where the SAA and security forces have failed to eliminate all ISIS cells thus facing repeated attacks. The most notable such incident took place on July 25 and resulted in the killing of at least 255 people and the injuring of about 180 others.
Civilians are leaving the militant-held part of Idlib province via a humanitarian corridor in the Abu al-Duhur settlement, Russia’s Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said.
According to the head of the Center’s Aleppo Province Department Oleg Demyanenko, all the fleeing persons are checked via Syrian databases to see whether they have any problems with the law. They are also checked for weapons and explosives. Some people have reportedly tried to smuggle fire arms.
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and other militant groups see the evacuation of civilians from the area under their control as a threat and a signal of the upcoming operation against them by the SAA.
The reason is that the evacuation of civilians is limiting the militants’ capabilities to use them as human shields.
The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have captured 3,400km2 from ISIS near the Syrian-Iraqi border in the framework of their operation against the terrorist group’s cells in eastern Deir Ezzor and southern al-Hasakah.
Currently, the SDF is in the final stage of its operation against ISIS in the border area, according to pro-Kurdish sources. According to the SDF’s statements, ISIS cells remain only in the area of Rawdhah and Barghuth swamps.
Daraa & Quneytra 100% Terrorist Free.
” Daraa and Quneytra are 100% terrorists free, all villages liberated, still many groups handling heavy weapons in Quneytra, way more than expected.” (Canthama)
” Several jihadist (not as radical as al nusra) have decided to reconcile with the Syrian Gov’t, some fought side by side with the SAA in Yarmouk.
The remaining ISIS in the 3 last villages, basically surrendered. It is said there was a swap with the kidnaped Druze ladies (some 20).
ISIS in the desert will be killed to the last one, this is their last standing. Remembering that this ISIS in the Suweida desert were the ones transferred from Yarmouk camp south of Damascus 3 months ago, the decision at that time was to move them from the urban area to the desert.
The battle in the desert will go on, SAAF, RuAF and SAA are now involved in active ops, in few weeks it be over.” (Canthama)
“Unrealistic demands by Israel” — Russian Ambassador to Israel
Iran’s presence in Syria ‘fully legitimate according to UN’
Russian ambassador to Israel: We can’t force Iran to leave Syria.
Anatoly Viktorov says Iranian-backed forces have a ‘very important role’ in fighting opponents of Assad regime
And we know that the UNSC thoroughly rejects Israel’s occupation of Golan.
“The 15-member council agreed on Tuesday that the status of the Golan, which Israel seized from Syria in 1967, “remains unchanged”, Chinese Ambassador Liu Jieyi, who holds this month’s council presidency said.
Liu recalled a 1981 resolution which states that Israel’s “decision to impose its laws, jurisdiction and administration in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights was nul and void and without any international legal effect.”
And now Syrian government forces are at the border of Golan and Israel does not have even one voice of international support for it’s illegal occupation. – not even from the US
“The US House of Representatives dismissed a legislative proposal this week from Representative Ron DeSantis of Florida regarding a US recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights”.
The illegality of Israel’s occupation of Golan raises the whole issue of the total illegitimacy of the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
Israel’s days are surely numbered.
What will they do when the US can no longer fight it’s wars and bankroll it ?
i guess they cannot ever stop @ lying
“opponents” -> ISIS paid headchoppers
“regime” -> goverment
Syrian Army Discovers Caches of Israeli-Made Bombs in Daraa Province – Reports
“Syrian government forces combing towns and villages in the country’s southern province of Rif Dimashq have discovered Israeli-made bombs along with loads of munitions and military hardware inside weapons caches belonging to foreign-sponsored jihadist terrorists, Syrian’s official news agency SANA reported.
According to the agency, citing an unnamed field commander, Syrian army forces conducting clean-up operations in the towns of Babbila and Yalda have also found a number of anti-personnel mines, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and their rockets, machineguns, automatic rifles, chemical substances used to make bombs as well as telecommunication devices.
Syrian government forces are also searching for hidden arms caches in the southern outskirts of the capital Damascus as they prepare for the return of local residents displaced by war.
In the country’s southwestern Daraa province, government troops have recaptured the town of al-Shajara regaining full control of the Yarmouk basin.
“The Syrian army has completely routed the terrorists from Daraa province after taking control of the Yarmouk Basin in the north-west of the province,” a military source told Sputnik on Tuesday.
There too a number of weapons caches were found, along with bomb-making workshops and underground prisons, SANA wrote.
The military offensive in the regions, partially controlled by various militant groups, was launched by Damascus in June after its capital and several other cities had been shelled by local militants despite an ongoing ceasefire reached with the help of the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria.
The Syrian government aims to regain control of its border with Jordan and with the disputed territories of the Golan Heights, occupied by Israel.”
