Connecting the Shores: What a Bridge to Crimea Will Look Like (VIDEO)
Like back in the good old Soviet times, college students arrive to build the Kerch Bridge
An anthem of the Kerch Bridge builders composed by an engineer from Saint Petersburg
Good to see progress on the bridge.
Why do they not build it from Krym to Kavkaz? It is shorter. They already have railroad connections to both places.
Simple. The sea floor substrata was not sufficient to carry the bridge, hence the current location. Several routes were investigated and the current location was chosen as the best for all parameters.
Russia Deploys Advanced S-400 Air Missile System to Crimea
Russia has deployed its advanced S-400 air defense missile system to annexed Crimea, Russian news agencies reported on Friday, citing a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry.
S-400The announcement comes two days after President Vladimir Putin promised to take counter-measures after what he said were clashes between Russian forces and Ukrainian saboteurs in northern Crimea.
I wonder if they considered building a tunnel like the one connecting Britain and France.
The Crimean Peninsula s only land border is with Ukraine, but currently regular passenger and cargo deliveries are organized by direct flights and ferries from ports in southern Russia. October 1 also saw the beginning of the construction of a four-lane highway to link the new bridge with the Krasnodar region in the south of Russia. It will be 40 km long with five interchanges.
When will the rail link be conected to the mainland, opening up Crimea to more people every year. ?
