Ukraine is the core of the formation of the Russian state and nation. And much more. In modern circumstances, the question of Ukraine is a question of Russia’s survival. Ukraine is the country that decides on Russia’s destiny because it is in the lobby of the Kremlin. In the modern conditions of modern weapons, it is a springboard for the dismemberment of Russia. These plans have existed for a long time and are even in the scientific literature.
The main goals of the Russian peacekeeping operation are the protection of the Russian people in Ukraine, Ukraine’s commitment to neutrality, and the decentralization of the state in order to prevent an anti-Russian policy in the future in Kiev. Also, President Putin made it clear – that one of the goals is to denazify Ukraine.
For years, we have witnessed the strengthening of neo-Nazi forces in Ukraine, and it is not appropriate for a country like Russia, which has a fight against Nazism in its history, to have a country in its neighborhood that is pro-Nazi. And Ukraine was like that. And imagine what the impact of Ukraine would be if it remained on that course as Russia’s neighbor. The geopolitical goals are recognized in the geopolitics of Russia written in the books, and that is to expel the United States from Eurasia as a whole. That seems like a distant and impossible goal to us, but with the victory in the Second World War, the United States occupied the macro-bridgehead in Europe and after the Cold War, they tried to expand it. They succeeded in that after the fall of the Berlin Wall and reached the borders of Russia itself – Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia. Now they are trying to expand that bridgehead even more. The Russians believe that the United States is a foreign body on the territory of Eurasia, under the formula “why would a non-Eurasian power rule Eurasia, where there is one Russia, China, India but also Germany and France.
So goals can be much longer term.
On the other hand, for US, this is a matter of confirming credibility. After several defeats, Washington is facing a new challenge – in Ukraine itself. If Russia succeeds, the United States will be in a cycle of defeat.
Many countries will try to be neutral and give general commitments, their generalized words. But China, like any great power, says one thing – that the security interests of Russia, like any other state, must be respected. In translation, that NATO’s expansion to the east must be stopped.
After independence, Ukraine insisted on decommunization. From the demolition of the monuments, to the change of its orientation and policy. But only to those limits to stay within its borders which were determined by the – communists!
The situation is similar to the Western Balkans, where the Yugoslav communists did the same thing – established inconsistent borders. This has been a problem in the post-Yugoslav space for three decades. And the same is done in the former Soviet Union.
That ideology was on the line to make Russia as weak as possible, to deprive it of as much territory and economic resources as possible, to bring it into a bad geostrategic position in the sense that all its exits to the seas would be called into question. That is how Russia experienced the loss of Crimea and Sevastopol, which was of vital importance for Russia, during the Khrushchev era.
So, if Ukraine wants decommunization – now Russia will not go partially but to the end, that is a strong message from Russia president. It can also be interpreted in the Balkan way.
Crimea is something that Russia fought bloodily for. Sevastopol is an immeasurably important base. Imagine that Crimea remained in Ukraine and that with Ukraine’s entry into NATO, Crimea became a NATO base. The question is whether the West would then recognize Russia even as a regional power.
This crisis will also hit the European Union hard. In the long run, the EU will be in immeasurable damage. It has no energy and gas. Even before the war crisis, Europe was in an energy crisis. Imagine the crisis it will be in now.
Nord Stream 1 and 2 were built with a strong geopolitical connotation. If it weren’t for that, if there wasn’t a lot of geopolitics, they would have been built by land through the Baltic republics to Germany. But geopolitical interest was recognized. And that was recognized by Germany, not Russia.
The threat is that the gas pipeline routes will be cut if they go through the countries that Donald Rumsveld said were the “new Europe”.
It was in Germany’s interest to connect directly with Russia. This caused great fear in US and the Atlantic countries, because they are afraid of the Moscow-Berlin axis. They are afraid of German discipline and capital on the one hand, and Russian resources, human values and the territory on the other.
If an axis is made here, then Atlantic countries have nothing to look for in Europe. That is why the first American reaction was to disrupt the gas pipelines in all possible ways, to close them if necessary. But, without those gas pipelines, Europe, and primarily Germany, would have nothing to expect.
We are far from the Third World War, but the geopolitical repackaging of the world is underway. It is not at its beginning. It started with the empowerment of China, and then Russia. Russia has shown that it will not tolerate the presence of Washington`s vassals in its environment, which will not respect Russian geopolitical interests, but will pursue a pro-Washington policy.
It is enough to imagine that the same thing that US is doing in Ukraine, that Russia is doing in Canada. Hypothetically, imagine that Canada is an anti-American country-exponent of Russia. Washington’s reactions would be lightning fast. It is enough to remember the Cuban crisis.
The Russian message is clear. The world must be repackaged and neoclassical spheres of interest must be formed. Primarily on the Eurasian mainland. All with the aim of establishing long-term peace and prosperity

The expanded version of the essay written by Nathan Nielson can be found in a book published by Notre Dame Press (University of Notre Dame), This link to the shortened version is worth a read:
In Ash Wednesday Mass today I prayed that God would be with the Russian military and for God to them and innocent civilians.
From the Venerable Fulton J. Sheen (from his book “Footprints in a Darkened Forest”):
“Atheism is not natural to the Russian people; rather, it has been an importation from the Western world…
Did but the Western democracies think less of political categories and more about spiritual realities, they would see a great bond existing between themselves and the Russian people. Not in the realm of war but of the spirit the solution of the problem is to be found…
[Russian writers] of the 19th century knew that the revolt against God was coming and that Russia would be at the very head of it, enslaving men under the guise of liberation, they nevertheless were convinced that the deep-rooted faith of the Russian people would one day be the light and beacon to the world…
The lesson is not to be forgotten: in a not too distant day when Russia, like the prodigal son, will return to the father’s house, let not Western civilization refuse to accept it back or absent itself from the feast celebrating the salvation of what was lost. Constant obedience is better than repentance, but the truly obedient will always rejoice in the repentant… [T]he land which once was known as Holy Russia may become again the wellspring whence a pure stream of Christianity may flow.”
I just read the link provided by georgeg, and it is truly wonderful. Then I read your comment, Bill, and I have to respectfully note that Russians are also a Western civilization, since they also had Ancient Greek and Roman origins, and they are also at core, Christian, of the Ortodox variety.
What happened was that then they were exposed to other influences, which made them also Asian. They are therefore truly Eurasian, like very few people are, like the Georgians and Armenians, and other interesting people members of the old Fertile Crescent area.
Eventually a synthesis of this kind will take place in your area of the world. It has already started. It is just that your country is younger.
From a member of another universalist mystical tradition (Pantheist).
What I meant, in short, is that there are several (although very few) Western civilizations. Not just one.
Very nice to see Bishop Sheen’s name mentioned.
The filthy Google just banned a lot of Russian channels on Youtube… 👎 (Россия24, Соловьев… etc).
Never mind, Putin has spoken to his nation and Russia will prevail as she fights for the truth. ⚠️ And there will be no world without Russia, what would be the sense of it?
This is all known, the question remains how will Russia solve it? The UN showed that there are few friends. In general only hear sanctions from all countries of the world. Russia seems to be isolated. The media is banned. In Europe, it seems as if people should live in the opinion corridor. How is something supposed to happen worldwide if the media is now blocked?
The war is not moving either, and it feels that all countries are bringing weapons to Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry has become quite silent. What’s the plan? How to implement? Turkey and Hungary have fallen. China speaks diplomatically but more? I have feeling feel that a real conflict is conjured up here. Nuclear forces on alert. Taiwan receives a visit from the USA.
The dream from Lisbon to Vladivostok is something beautiful but can you see it now? The US and its European hawks want to prolong the war and in the end Russia is taken over by a guy Yeltsin.
What happened in Ukraine, apart from the Nazis, that Russia seemed to have gone into this war so thoughtlessly? How will Russia implement the end? How do you want to publish the results when the media is blocked? How to win without friends? Apart from the people in Russia who certainly do not want to take a step back in development? It feels like a game over.
The war started on February 24, 2022.
Today is March 2, 2022.
Let’s see, that would be . . . 7 days.
God created the Earth in 6 days and he rested on the 7th day.
The Russians aren’t God’s angels but they are “right thinking” in fighting against the slaughter of innocents.
Russia will triumph over the wicked; give it 3 months (90 days) and have a little faith.
If the Russians don’t accomplish their objectives then I will buy you a pizza from your favorite eatery!
“It is enough to imagine that the same thing that US is doing in Ukraine, that Russia is doing in Canada. Hypothetically, imagine that Canada is an anti-American country-exponent of Russia. Washington’s reactions would be lightning fast. It is enough to remember the Cuban crisis.”
One doesn’t have to construct such a far-fetched hypothetical, since history offers a better example.
In the run-up to the U.S. Civil War, Britain was very much on the side of the Confederacy—sympathized with it and supported it in many ways. Britain would have liked nothing better than to reestablish a supercordial relationship with the seceded state in the southeast–a kind of neo-colony. Britain needed the cotton for its textile industry (as did the American North). It didn’t care much about slavery. It also was eager to help finance not only the Confederate war effort but also a transcontinental railway that was planned to connect Savannah to some port in southern California. You can read about this in Colin Woodard’s American Nations.
Lincoln was not about to allow a slave state infiltrated by British financial and political interests to exist on the southern border of a rump USA where it would be a constant source of destabilization, sedition, and meddling and possibly an invasion to recapture the whole shebang or part of what it had lost less than 100 years before, or to find ways to separate the eastern portion of the country from the developing western portion, which was thinly settled and hence vulnerable. Or even to combine with Indian tribes and find other ways to undermine the USA’s westward expansion and consolidation.
One can imagine a “Curses! Foiled again!” reaction when Lincoln managed to hold the country together and send the Brits packing. (Soon Britain started scheming to bring down its other two great competitors, Germany and Russia. It was also deep into its Great Game competition with Russia in Afghanistan and its attempt to destroy China from within via opium.)
Sorry, this comment ended up in the wrong place.
Silvio, it took the US and Nato 30 days to conquer Iraq, a month of vicious bombing to get Gaddafi, and to oust the Taliban. Relax. Step by step.
Exactly. Just sit and wait, Russia is in no need to apply sanctions.
You see – Netflix and Po*nhub etc. terminated services for Russia.
Consequences: spot price of gas over $2300 per 1000 m3…..
“It feels like game over.”
Maybe within the western goldfish bowl.
Certainly not to Pepe Escobar.
I suggest you watch his recent interview/ video posted at this blog to get a different view.
“Russia seems to have gone into this war so thoughtlessly”?
The more this crisis unfolds, the more facts come to light, and the overall picture… revealing Russia has gone into this most thoughtfully!
At what is literally this new Stalingrad moment, at this Ukrainian crossroad, it is a matter of life and death for Russia. The hostile Empire, its declared greatest enemy, is literally massively mobilized at Russia’s very borders, threateningly begging for war, determined to destroy it. That is only the latest episode of a long, a very long story, a mighty, heroic struggle for Russia to exist and have its rightful place in this world.
Impressive, the unprecedented efforts now deployed by said Empire to oppose Russia are indeed frightening: THIS IS WAR! War against a formidable enemy, indeed our world’s true despicable hegemon. At stake is the redesign of the entire geopolitical landscape, the creation of a radically new world order for mankind, of ALL, by ALL, for ALL.
Time to choose.
The brave must now decide.
“Under which king, Bezonian
Speak or die!”
“to oppose Russia”
Framing always restricts perspective.
“the question of Ukraine is a question of Russia’s survival.”
Agree, for that reason Russia should annex Ukraine on its entirety, in fact it should have done decades ago. Anyway, annexing Ukraine today won’t happen IMO, so I can’t see how you can guarantee Russia ‘survival’ without completely controlling Ukraine…
“The main goals of the Russian peacekeeping operation are the protection of the Russian people in Ukraine, Ukraine’s commitment to neutrality, and the decentralization of the state in order to prevent an anti-Russian policy in the future in Kiev. Also, President Putin made it clear – that one of the goals is to denazify Ukraine.”
That is what we were told… for instance, it is possible that within a year or so, the organized Ukrainian military resistance is defeated with most Nazists dead, beautiful! However the population has been brainwashed for decades with anti-Russian propaganda, and I can’t see them ever accepting neutrality, as soon as the Russians leave, the West will be back… so I can’t see how Ukraine will be an independent neutral country… I don’t know how this strategy will work…
The Russian costs for first 7 days of the operation has been monstrous, the US is loving it! For a country that now will have considerable financial struggles, I can’t see a sustainable path in long term for the Ukrainian operation. Russia is using important military assets now, and this conflict can be considered as a distraction war, make no mistakes, the US will use this opportunity, as soon as Russia gets exhausted, then all left for Russia to respond will be the use of nukes, and consequently ending life on earth as we know it… not happy with that outcome, and it seems that Putin has nothing else better on his sleeve.
I have to say that I am concerned.
there is a humanistic approach:
the rests of the Ukrainian bandera nazi scum will be concentrated in a reservation with HQ in Lvov.
Kind of Gaza solution, however, in larger scale. Polish marionettes of the USA will run the circus. They still have some business to settle…
What is of concern to me is the non-finished denazifying of Germany as Mr. Lavrov kindly mentioned the other day in reply to the megaidiot Scholz….
“Polish marionettes of the USA will run the circus.
US Zionists and Polish marionettes will have entertainment at hand: “Volodymyr Zelensky is dancing in heels.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uv_WWzjrUrI
You wrote, “The Russian costs for first 7 days of the operation has been monstrous, the US is loving it! “
Are you talking about economic costs, geopolitical opinion, material loss or human fatalities. It would be helpful for me to better understand your statement. Please provide a URL link to support your argument.
I’m concerned about your grasshopper mental state.
If Russia had waited another year only god knows what WMD’s would have been slipped into Ukraine under the cover of night.
The West will come begging to the table, they’re already on their knees. Forward into battle against these demonic forces, hearts & minds will soon follow.
Absolute no to annexation. That is what the west claims Russia’s goal is, and would lead us right back to Domino Theory.
Aside from “proving” western propaganda, Russia would be adopting a completely failed state riddled with foreign instruments all aimed at Russia.
Thus the Russian plan, denazification, demilitarization and the restoration of sovereignty in Ukraine is the only way to proceed, with collateral damage to NATO and the US proportional to their own actions.
That is the point… the initial statements don’t fit the reality and can’t never do, and the ‘plan’ strategy seems at least to be dead on arrival.
Concerns about Putin’s calculaton all rest on the assumption he wishes to REFORM the European security architecture with Russia as a brother to the Euro band. That is a mistaken view. In his speech on the day the war launched, he makes clear that that is what he WAS trying to do for so long…
But with this single move, he has ABANDONED Europe. He says as much in the speech. The world order has dramatically shifted to Eurasia….or at least this is Putin’s gambit. The Russians already baked into their decision to police Ukraine ALL of the potential isolation and economic warfare/anti-russian psyops etc (all of which betrays by the way the actual desperation of the west to see one of their vassal states assert itself as a real rival and say “no more..”)….but i think the real thing that this represents is Russia’s total confidence in BREAKING with the West and pivoting FULLY to Eurasian integration, China, the global south (India, Pakistan, Iran, Venezuela, Brazil etc). Russia can go it alone–or is willing to risk trying. Which is a massive rebellion against Western Atlanticist global financial and military domination. And if they do…this is truly the beginning of real de-dollarizarion…and the truth is western central banks are shaking in their boots to see a peer rival split from their financial empire. Hence the full court financial and media attack from west. Even Switzerland piled on! Switzerland didnt even sanction actual Nazis and third world genocidal dictators.
If Putin can pull this off and extract the concessions from Kyiv that he wants–and then survive the economic transition away from the dollar, it is a major historical event.
I would wish it not to be true but i think you have a good point. I also would like Russia to annex the whole of the Ukraine and secure it within the Union State. there has been so much nonsense written about the Ukraine being a worthless place…sure 1945 it was a broken land …by 1980 it was more dynamic than Germany…and now there is a vast potential for new growth in this land. If the West has seen this potential, why can Russia not see this?
I have been worried for a whole week after i received no news from my girlfriend in Chernigiv. The first key northern entry point for the Russians was the road to Kiev, passing by Chernigiv. I then read that there was substantial resistance outside the city with a major battle. But then the city was encircled and the Russians stayed outside. Chernigiv has not been a priority, but, the sounds of war have been extremely frightening for cilvilians. My girlfriend is extremely perceptive but…
She assured me she is safe and sound but that the Internet and mobile networks have been cut at times.
Now…whilst i explained to her the wider context of the conflict and the Russian perspective, and also warned her to stay indoors due to the presence of Nazis with guns….this is her answer:
“We do look at the war and the one who started it, in a bit different way though the most horrible thing is that the people die and the people are scared (more than 2000 civilians were killed by the ones who invaded our country with “mission to free us from Nazis and drug addicts”). At the same time you see that the Ukrainians are fighting and they are strong – physically, emotionally and spiritually. I am sorry that I could not write to you the previous days. There are better and worse days, there are scarier and less scary days. It is something I cannot express in words. It is something I cannot describe. The war is evil and everyone who comes to my motherland with the weapon should realize that he is the biggest enemy for me. I do not have any mercy for anyone who has been killing here. They ruin our houses, they ruin the lives of the people, they kill civilians, they scare the kids, they kill the kids! Monsters, bloody and worthless monsters. That is all I can say.
Thank you a lot for worrying about me and my financial situation. The banks are closed. We just need to hope that soon this hell will be over and we will manage to come back to normal, peaceful life.
I will try to write to you on daily basis the short messages. I do not know how good or bad the Internet will be but as soon as I have the possibility to write to you a letter, I will definitely do that.
I would like to ask you not to worry about me too much. I am taking all the measures to be safe and sound. I do not spend the time outside without real need.”
The point is, instead of blaming the USA and UK for starting the conflict, she is blaming Russia for responding to the provocations…and ironically she is a Donbass girl, with family in Severodonetsk, where fighting is currently intense. One week ago she wrote that she did not feel it was worthwhile to expand to the legal Donetsk Oblast border, since so many outside this perimeter were against joining the ‘rebels’
Whilst in contrast…i have neighbours in London…all from western Ukraine…all deeply frightened of the situation that the USA and UK ‘imposed’ on the Ukraine after 2014 …and all deeply grateful for the Russian intervention.
There is a lot of work ahead in any reconciliation process and it cannot be done by leaving the Ukraine independent. The American manipulation of the education system, religion, holidays, language rights all need to be reversed for the two sides to grow back together.
I like the presentation by Colonel Doug MacGregor. His understanding of what could be viable for Russia sounds reasonable but i would not leave a Neutral Zone..i would annex the lot…except for the historic Galician Oblast. Let the Poles and western Ukrainian-Galicias have their Marriage Made In Hell. I respect Putin for his seemingly moderate cautious approach but the current situation demands a far more resolute and aggressive tone in defence of Russian Interests. Closing Russian airspace to foreign airlines could have been used as a weapon a long time ago.
The USA has been extremely successful in again, turning brother against brother…just like in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq…Germany too has never healed but become one big freak show, the only sensible ones are in east Germany but they have been neutralised economically even as their education system remains superior to the western part (the best automotive engineers are trained in Chemnitz) . The Wessies remain arrogant towards the Ossies and the Ossies are equally irritated by the Wessies…
I have loony leftie fiends in West Germany who totally support the US Deep State ;oP
BTW someone else has started using my Name…maybe i should use “Original Analyst” from now on !
I love your analysis. I have been struck by similar inconsistencies among my American friends here, in many cases for a long time. Romance can be like heaven, but if you haven’t achieved friendship it’s worthless and can be lead to tragedy. I am 77 years old and have been in love.
There is that expression “I disagree with everything my learned friend says but i will defend to the death his right to say it” (someone remind me please, who quoted this extremely good expression, originally…)
You can co-exist with different views and sometimes it livens up debates.
I have recently been cut off by UK friends with whom i have been in touch for over 40 years. They support the Anti-Russian view – but they havent been able to articulate any real reasoning…never mind…
As WTFUK mentioned; “It will all come out in the wash”
The reasoning is: Novichok! (The UK’s storm of propaganda about the Skripals.)
What are your girlfriend’s views on the systematic bombing of Donbass for the last 8 years by Kiev?
She ‘lost’ contact with friends who deliberately moved to the “Rebel Held” area. They were in favour of the original reasoning behind Maidan… so they settled in the Donbass and communicated later that they were far happier there …My gf simply wanted a peaceful life for everyone and defended those who did not want to be part of any rebellion…
Have you considered that your grilfriend is living in a war-zone, that you communication is intercepted, and that any sign of treason might be the end of her ? I think you are a bit recless here.
Good point indeed…but that applies far more to myself: as I have been accused of being treasonous by UK friends, who cut me off ;oD
As for my gf, she is neutral on this topic of blame. She just saw the violence in the Donbass as an unfortunate and unneccesary development and the current intervention by the Russians as something unneccessary. ie she wants a peaceful life for everyone and doesnt want to be concerned with the bigger picture.
Unfortunately “The Bigger Picture” involves her region too – ‘experiencing an earthquake right on the edge of the tectonic plate of two opposing forces’
As the UK media currently keeps promoting the Ukraine as a wonderful example of a fledgling democracy, now crushed through the Russian invasion” i daresay that freedom of speech and divergence of opinion is still more tolerated there …than it is here?
So you rather want to believe your own narrative because if it turns out that you have been living in a lie for such a long time, you’d have a cognitive dissonance? You trust propaganda resources over your own girlfriend?
Sorry about the name! Convergent evolution, I suppose. I did notice someone else used “my name” in a post and thought about changing.
No worries ! Theres plenty of room for more Analysts on this great website!
” I also would like Russia to annex the whole of the Ukraine and secure it within the Union State. there has been so much nonsense written about the Ukraine being a worthless place…sure 1945″
The Russian Federation is called The Russian Federation for various reasons.
The US dollar is the weapon of choice for NATO. That is why NATO does not have to send in troops. Ukraine infrastructure will be built with printed US dollars. The only cost is a few key strokes. When an individual’s bank account is shut down, your debit/credit card does not work. How many people use cash? Very few, you are screwed!
For all those impatient for this war to end (in Russia’s favour, of course) just a small reminder: it took NATO 78 days of constant undisciminated bombardment of Yugoslavia and they still were not able to put a foot on Yugoslavia’s territory. And it was 950 million NATO people against 7 millions of Serbs back then. There are 40-44 millions of ukranians. Therefore, what we whitness here in Ukraine is extremely rapid advance of russian troops. It took 5 days for Russians to reach Ukraine’s capital which is at the center of Ukraine!? How faster it needed to be done?
Only a very few in the west are doubting Russia’s military-technical might/capability. If Putin wasn’t the great humanitarian he is then tens/hundreds of thousands of civilians would be dead. Russia could obliterate NATO military assets in Ukraine, The Baltics, Poland & Romania within 3 days.
This is much bigger! Should this cabal of western overlords & their minions have succeeded in subduing Russia, you could take it to the bank that China & Iran would follow, The one giant Amazon Plantation, the Cabal’s Holy Grail. We’re talking British India here , on steroids.
If a country was willing to murder 3000+ of its own citizens then 3 billion foreigners would be nothing to Zio-Bank-Corp & their military wing MIC MI6 Mossad. Those dudes & dudettes are ambitious. Most of their plans have been foiled/thwarted to date by those pesky Russians and Iranians, The Yinon Plan for one. The West’s only hope is that new blood will step forward, those not hooked up to the intravenous opium drip and totally dependent on the Public teat.
Fact is, the US spend over a $ trillion fiat each year on their Defence. Who’s attacking America? Exactly, the $ trillion is to pad MIC with enough funds to make some toys that’ll be purchased by their satellites; Send in the CIA & Mossad to run their operations abroad, having identified/liaised with the Bankers as to which countries resources/assets might show a return on their investment. Not much different to Privateer Pirate Sir Henry Morgan commissioned by the Crown to pillage & rape, rounding up the natives and expanding the plantations.
With less than 10% of America’s military budget Russia arsenal/manpower/performance is superior. They could in fact use the 900 billion to become leaders in many other spheres of technology and industry. Fact is Russian’s economy is way undervalued and America’s way overvalued, Does the above indicate that Russia is 10 times more efficient than the US, no, incompetence and theft account for 80% of that budget, leaving Russia still twice as efficient. Next, the US is largely dependent on the goodwill accompanying a kick-in-the-face to airlift that $$$$$$$ hegemony, Russia & China are a major fly in that ointment. By trading in their own currencies, even expanding their spheres of influence, uncle Benjamin $$$$$$ is eroding as fast as Joe Biden’s healthy brain cells, I’m thinking a similar timeline before both collapse.
The Information War is all they have and in my mind wouldn’t be necessary if they weren’t certifiable raving psychopaths desperate to conceal their heinous crimes against humanity. The penny’s dropping slowly but surely in the US though, admittedly even the mediocre middle-classes can see the excrement and used syringes over their wall, on their paths, in their parks as a big tell.
America is all about the illusion, of choice, of wealth, military capability, of strength, of good. All a mask, we’re dealing with a fragile, almost brittle, mentally imbalanced, bankrupt State still intent on calling the shots. Pathetic.
It has been nothing short of magnificent!
Imo I agree with Saker Ukraine was alrdy defeated the moment Nato abstained from the war,
as long as that stays true Russia will accomplish his goals there.
I have no doubt VVP was aware of the Wests actions in cutting Russia off from trade an banking long before he took these actions He has not been cought off guard nor has China
which brings up the major point China..is set to become Russia’s major buyer of oil at a discounted price which will help them overcome their current Real Estate issues.
meanwhile in EU an US inflation is alrdy hurting an will get much worse setting off huge civil unrests everywhere in an Election year no less
The test will be in this summer in how The west will deal with all this.
Will they attempt to sanction or even threaten China which would could really start WW3
Or they become reasonable an work things out with Russia to relieve their inflation stresses
going to be in interesting year for sure!
We should all bear in mind that Russia is in a dead-end position since the collapse of the USSR and the effort made by the Putin Lavrov regime is remarkable and admirable but insufficient, simply because a further reverse of the international balance at this stage is not humanly possible.
The Putin Lavrov team had no other choice: Either they would be even more dreadfully encircled by NATO missiles or they would invade the Ukraine, offering the Anglo-Saxon world the possibility to stain them as “the pariahs of the globe” and cut off servile Germany. Regarding the Anglo-Saxon axis the aim has been achieved, Russia invading the Ukraine has cut off Russia from Europe and Germany from Russia.
This by no means entails that not invading the Ukraine was a better option.
And this is not Putin’s weakness or mistake, we have to understand (since in popular pro-Putin imagery he is portrayed as a chess grand master) that he is continuing a game that started long before he came in power, played by other players who abandoned the game. It is not his fault, it is certainly positive that he shall hold Eastern Ukraine, on the other hand, there are very significant gains for the Old and Great Albion, or Atlantic axis if you will.
The next thing the Atlantists await and look forward to, is to see Russia “too dependent on a not so kind hearted Chinese ally”, so as to drive Russia pleading help from the West (in a ten to twenty years margin from today), to put it simply to survey and administer a fracture in the Russia – China relationship, with China getting too greedy. They shall also make anything possible to produce other fractures between Russia, India, Iran.
If Russia has failed somewhere -and this is due to an Asiatic – endless steppes – agricultural aristocratic and serf mentality is the communication war, where they are against the mercantile con-merchant spirit of the Albion. And by communication war I do not refer to channels, or blogs, sites, YouTube what not.
There is a whole realm of other areas, and more particularly the “civil society” area, that is the way the Russian Embassies and cultural representations perceive the tying of bonds with local (European) societies.
This matter disserves a whole article if not an essay.
I wish eastern Ukraine is “annexed” -well let us say “confederately” de-annexed from the Ukraine- in such a way that it acts practically as Russian national terrain, like other “autonomous democracies”.
I will agree with “Triarius X” on this topic: “However the population has been brainwashed for decades with anti-Russian propaganda, and I can’t see them ever accepting neutrality, as soon as the Russians leave, the West will be back… so I can’t see how Ukraine will be an independent neutral country… I don’t know how this strategy will work…”, but besides, the independence of Eastern Ukraine, as a separate state, containing the whole of the Black Sea coast up to the Dnieper and Transnistria, is enough, Russia can live with an enclosed land central and Western Ukraine, as long as it controls Kharkov.
All my prayers for Russia.
Russia has closed the door to the Empire and it’s vassals. Shutting them out. Currently Russia is performing a humanitarian operation in ukraine. A war of liberation if you will.
It’s game over for Empire, as can be seen from the borderline psychotic reactions reported in MSM.
I live in Canada and am reticent even to call myself Canadian anymore. The current Canadian Liberal government under Trudeau and before that the former Conservative government under Harper have been supplying, training and bolstering Ukraine’s military for decades. If that were not enough, now they intend to send lethal weapons too. This is shocking and an abomination of what were once peaceful Canadian values or so I once thought. I wish to thank Mr. Putin for the term ‘Empire of Lies’ as it is not an insult but an accurate description for which Canada’s government has become an enthusiastic and subservient monkey.
I wish to express my heartfelt sadness over the death of well-nigh 500 Russian soldiers that have lost their lives trying to minimize civilian casualties. Such a contrast to the way the US led Nato has conducted its illegal escapades sowing chaos and destruction wherever they go. These soldiers deserve glory. They inspire me to write this post.
I began to awake my political consciousness, I think it was in the 1990’s when Hillary Clinton came to Winnipeg which has a sizeable Ukrainian constituency and gave a speech that was reported in the press and riddled with anti-Russian hate and vitriol. I remember being so appalled (it was hate speech) that I asked my colleagues about it the next day at work and received blank stares. I also recall, this was under the Harper government when a Ukrainian government minister came to visit and was given a royal welcome by our Parliament even when he was openly calling for conflict against Russia. Since when, I remember asking, did Russia become Canada’s enemy?
Today I see that our democracy, our Charter of Rights and Freedoms has been stolen from us by WEF/WHO/Nato ideologues pushing their anti-human agenda. They have no values other than consumption; they do not know moral right from wrong as seen with the pandemic and they have ripped apart the the fabric of Canadian society causing untold suffering.
I have been ostracized by friends, family and even by my former religious community. I have no health care. My plans for a modest retirement in which I could ride my motorcycle around our beautiful country have been stolen from me and now my livelihood is threatened by government legislation that allows the freezing of my bank account for donating to an unapproved cause. So you see, it is not just ordinary Ukrainians being exploited and oppressed toward the agenda of the so called International Rules Based Order.
This was likely too simple. It is my first post here. RT was down here this morning but what a relief to be able to access the Saker to know what is going on. I had this wild and crazy thought that maybe if I walked north and kept walking that I could find myself in Russia and they would accept me as a refugee.
A great peace may one day come and once again we will have the bravery of Russia to thank.
Stay strong friend, the greatest success is understanding the reality and not living in an illusion and being surrounded by delusional “friends”.
Be patient. The Great Seapower is in retreat, and her ruling class is in a very bad way. They know that they have lost not only their most important vassal (PRC), but also their second more important vassal (Germany) is about to be snatched from them. Why? Because Russia has demonstrated that she (Russia) have escalation dominance in Europe – that only the Russian security umbrella matters there.
Thanks for the very interesting post.
Back around 2014 I first read at this blog of the sizable Ukrainian community in Canada, and its potential for making huge mischief.
At the time it seemed outlandish, but now one can see how Ukrainian tentacles have reached into the inner organs of major western capitals and are causing a lot of trouble. It seems like the right-wing extremists are mainly represented in the Ukrainian diaspora.
I certainly hope you get to make that tour on your motorcycle.
Thanks for sharing your perspective. Informative. You write well.
The hole story still seems oddly scripted to me.
Sure Russia had several worked out strategies of the military intervention for years in their drawers, so did the Ukraine (or their US overlords) have several military plans to try to repell Russia and they have made the distribution of the available forces accordingly.
Russia obviously uses only relatively small fraction of heir forces for the current action, and on the available videos there is surprisingly few of Russia’s newest military hardware to be seen in action.
Russia decided to first try going in very lightly and this cost her quite some losses. I am not clear, why she went this way, but I think she did this very calculated. Obviously Russia knew of most if not of all preparations from the Ukraine’s side, and she knew how entrenched the hard-line west-ukrainian Russia-haters were, after 8 years of preparation, especially in the most russophile towns in eastern and south of Ukraine.
I am starting to believe, that the main reason for the extreme and surprisingly fast escalation of sanctions and propaganda war of the West (which was obviously planed ahead in detail, for the developing scenario). Obviously to force feeding the West’s (and much of 3rd world’s) population with this propaganda to keep the West’s narrative going, but in the Ukraine the main targets of this economic war strategy and propaganda are both the radical western Ukrainians in the fighting forces, giving them (probably false) hope to fight on and also the russophile eastern Ukrainians, instilling fear in them, that Russia might fail in her intervention, thus not outing themselves in fear of later retribution. Mostly this seemed effective until now.
Knowing and expecting all of this, the soft and minimally invasive approach with which Russia started, might have been deliberate psy-op, even accepting the losses of many soldiers lives, a psy-op targeting both to the Russian population in Russia and the Russians and rissophile eastern Ukrainians, to give them proof, that Russia had tried the way of liberating eastern and southern Ukraine with as little as possible of destruction and loss of civilian lives. But it was not possible. This needed to be shown, so the coming destruction in liberated areas/towns and losses of lives among the population there, which inevitably will be inflicted by Russia’s forces can be easier forgiven later on by Russia’s own people.
The propagandistic short term victory for the West, claiming Russia’s army’s incompetence with the initial approach, might have less long term impact, as Russia will thus be displayed and seen in the West, as less military dangerous than she really is, which actually might be a good thing.
Another strange thing is the EU hysteric reaction… while they seem like confused chickens in Europe, they too definitely had plans for any scenario. Not the chicken-like frontmen (politicians) but by the real power-elites behind the democratic facades in Europe. The European elites might be allied with the US elites, but they seem also subordinated to them. I believe that they are cliques with probably quite differing interests between themselves and also vs. the US elites.
The seemingly suicidal way, they risk the economies of the EU with the chosen economic warfare against Russia strangely makes me think, that the European elites might be going for this, because they see both outcomes as acceptable:
1) Russia gets economically defeated and politically destroyed, so they can later feast on Russia’s natural riches together with the US elites.
2) If Russia stands strong and achieves her military goals in Ukraine and maintains her economic and political stability… Then the self inflicted boomerang of the sanctions for the EU/US with added impact of the not yet announced counter sanctions might bring the US/UK financial empire and the Dollar hegemony down. This would in a way free the European elites, what they might not be able to do otherwise.
Manifesto on the Formation of the State of the Federal Republic of Ukraine
“We, the free people of Kharkov, Nikolaev, Sumy, Chernigov and other regions of Ukraine, declare and proclaim the formation of a new democratic state, the Federal Republic of Ukraine.
When the course of events leads to the fact that people of different nations and peoples are forced to terminate the political ties that bind them to a state by dictatorial repressive methods that impose the ideology of Nazism on society, they have an inalienable right to take an independent and equal place among the nations of the world, and a respectful attitude towards the opinions of mankind requires them to explain the reasons that prompted him to such a separation.
When a long series of egregious and inhumane abuses and acts of violence, invariably subordinated to the same goal, testifies to the insidious design to force our peoples to accept unlimited despotism, dictatorship and the complete rehabilitation of Nazism, the overthrow of such a government and the creation of new security guarantees for the future becomes a right and a duty of the peoples of Ukraine.
The peoples of Ukraine have shown patience for a long time, and only necessity compels them to change the previous system of their government.
The history of the existence of the state of Ukraine is a set of countless injustices and acts of violence, the purpose of which was to establish unlimited despotism and neo-fascist dictatorship.”
Good angle. This might be close to the truth. Since I live in Europe I can pray that you are right.
Watching them now on YouTube.
RT has just been banned in the UK.
The only channel remotely worth watching in the country.
Hopefully all of the western Lugenpresse will soon be banned in Russia shortly.
A few minutes ago, the gtingos say that they are sending this weapons to ukryne.
I find difficult that the javelins can reach the hands of the ukro-nazi-terrorist
Anyway, they seem desperate, and now, they are sanctioning also the russian cats,, really how shameless they are,,, lost all decency.
Need to clean up the political situation in US Canada and UK asap to repackage everything into better order.
The EU is mess too for different reasons.
Money issues and flows at the heart of things.
US needs a military coup to fix its broken system.
And Canada & UK too.
Chechens in Ukraine. These guys look psyched for war/battle. They are mean fighting warriors. Are involved in the encirclement of Maripol, and the seizure of the important military airport on the outskirts of Kyiv. Full of confidence they are. Wish I was there.
First two videos : https://twitter.com/200_zoka/status/1498002858733719558
They are battle-hardened. Monster warriors. No match to Ukranian Nazis.
I found here very good content related to Ukraine and what led to this point.
It is clear by now, that we are living in a truly multipolar world.
President Putin has been heard and thank God for that.
Infowars (if you did not b4, please, treat this phraze with the responsibility it requires: it is DEADLY and it can b imminent – yes, even for you. Not a threat mind you, just the facts on the ground. This is not minecraft anymore.)
– the natural and original language of the net in the western hemisphere and arguably over the world is English. I would expect for the anglosphere to have a huge advantage over the slavic nets.
I can not judge the effectiveness of the ukie propaganda vs the Russian one, but it is robust from what I see and single directional, since there are no legal opposition outfits with terror squads as enforcers. I will not cite cases of voices from inside ukr as I might b putting their lives in danger, but they are there, and their reports support the the official line of the Russian Federation so far.
Notice: we have a few semi secure private channels from the inside vs the ukie networks crosslinked with the rest of globohomo-shlomo.
The war in that sphere can not be won. It is not even a contest.
Thus wasting resources here is…just that. Of course I am not twisting your arm, simply justifying the status quo. Meme away if you will – those memes are delightfully funny, make your podcasts, but expect pushback from the usual suspects.
And I dont consider the Saker a waste of resources…
Ergo what I see is what I expect: the normie/leftie/antifa/mask-vax/tribe sort of the crowd painted their pubic hair blue and yellow.
EVERYONE with an IQ containing 3 digits understands the necessity and some even the urgency. I am not saying they support it, but they understand it.
As truth outs – time here is on our side.
Next time a conversation pops up about the concept of collective guilt, collective punishment you remember what is happening today with Russians THE WORLD OVER.
The very cultural and funding principles of the western sphere are being torched en masse along with its legal framework.
This is a huge escalation of what babysteps were made with the event of the ‘Rona.
We are entering an undeniably lawless, arbitrary and chaotic epoch(and I am not sure if I like that or not). Just a fact. Expect change – often.
What I have seen the last few days from my perceived enemies is mind-bogging. The courtains roll back – the king is naked, and the inmates running the asylum are opening the door to the zombie-kennels.
…well…enough for now…
For the Russian Soldiers: thank You for Your service.
RIP to those, who are gone.
I gotta add something: Alongside with the images of death, destruction, suffering and waste, one manages to stand out:
it is Pelosi rubbing her hands together behind president Brandon during the SOTU address.
It can not b unseen. I’ll leave it at that…
the salty cracker – absolutely best comedy on net. full stop.
Schiller Institute is the only Western that offers a Petition.
Schiller Institute Petition: For an international conference to create a new security and development architecture for all nations!
Maybe this is for some of the Saker Community to soft, but at least there is an Western organization that standsup against the Western agressor.
Following, Schiller Institute Founder Interview with China TV CGTN
Superior Analysis. But I have a criticism of the final paragraph. In the Anglo-American realm, the term “neoclassical” refers to the overthrow of the classical political-economic tradition and it’s replacement with a tradition without human values.
US /UK/EU NATO/Canada/Australia /New Zealand,Turkey,Saudi Arabia are loosing/lost in Syria with ISIS and Al Qaeda in Syria
US /UK/EU NATO/Canada/Australia /New Zealand/Japan are Losing /Lost with Fascist Nazi’s and Neo -Nazis in Ukraine
Total military collapse and defeat will always force even some hardheads to rethink.
Not this specimen, mind you:
Some important moments and facts, a summary of the facts that I consider important. Maybe I missed some essentials in a hurry and omitted others, in an effort to be clear. I challenge the brave reader who got to the end to get himself in the end.
July 16, 1990 – Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine
In Chapter IX – External and Internal Security, we find the statement: “The Ukrainian SSR solemnly declares its intention to become a permanently neutral state, without participation in military blocs, and to adhere to three principles without nuclear weapons – not to acquire, produce or buy nuclear weapons.”
1990 – In talks on German reunification, USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev receives assurances that NATO will not move an inch east; reassurance is also given to these other representatives of the USSR, and in the following years of the Russian Federation.

December 25, 1991 – Dissolution of the USSR
December 5, 1994 – OSCE Conference in Budapest; the accession of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Ukraine thus gave up nuclear weapons (they were on its territory, but they were always controlled by Moscow) for the security guarantees promised to it by Russia, the USA and Great Britain
March 12, 1999 – The Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary officially join NATO
March 24, 1999 – Without a UN Security Council decision, the US-led NATO begins bombing Serbia, the campaign lasts 78 days
May 7, 2000 – Vladimir Putin becomes President of the Russian Federation

2004 – Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia join NATO
November 2004 – January 2005 – Orange Revolution in Kiev in favor of pro-Western forces
2005 – US Government Considerations for Deploying Missile Shield Components in Europe Concretize
February 2007 – Putin makes a keynote speech at a security conference in Munich, proposing a new security arrangement in Europe
2 – 4.4.2008 – NATO summit in Bucharest decides on accession of Croatia and Albania; President Bush will fail to persuade the Allies to accept Ukraine and Georgia as well
August 2008 – Georgian President Saakashvili wanted to annex Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which were incorporated into Georgia during the USSR. Russian peacekeeping troops were deployed in these republics. Several Russian soldiers were killed in the Georgian attack. The Russian army intervened, and the fighting ended within days. Russia recognizes the independence of these states
2009 – Croatia and Albania join NATO
March 19, 2011 – The air forces of France, Great Britain and the USA exceed the mandate of the UN Security Council in air strikes on Libya
2012 – As of this year at the latest, US and UK special forces in Syria are working against legal President Bashar Assad, arming the opposition, the vast majority of various al Qaeda groups
2013 – Democratically elected President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych resists increased pressure from both Washington and Moscow
November 2013 – Yanukovych suspends preparations for association agreement with EU, riots begin in Kiev
December 13, 2013 – At the National Press Club in Washington, US Deputy Foreign Minister Victoria Nulland publicly states that the US has contributed more than $ 5 billion to “the development of democratic institutions and the capacity to spread civil society, etc.” since Ukraine’s independence in 1991.
January, February 2014 – Unrest in Kiev intensifies
February 4, 2014 – The “famous” Fuck EU call Victoria Nuland – US Ambassador to Kiev Geoffrey Pyatt – appeared on YouTube. They discuss together who can and who cannot be in the next Ukrainian government. The greatest bloodshed took place on 18-23 February 2014, with snipers killing both protesters and police officers from the roofs of distant buildings, from places that were under the control of “revolutionaries”. The snipers were Georgians who came to Kiev on the orders of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili
February 21, 2014 – Polish Foreign Ministry Radoslav Sikorski, German Foreign Minister Frank Steinmeier, Eric Fournier (Director of the Eastern Europe Section of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs) signed an agreement on early elections under OSCE control in the presence of Russian Ombudsman Vladimir Lukin and Ambassador Mikhail Zarubov. Until then, Yanukovych is to remain in office. Later that evening, however, Yanukovych flees to Kharkov, then spends about a week in the Crimea, then leaves for Russia. What happened on the 21st night when everything was finally resolved? American fuck EU live. Subsequently, the president, government and parliament change. Security is provided by neo-Nazi fighters of the Right Sector and the Azov Battalion. Ukraine is becoming the only state in the world where neo-Nazi units are an integral part of the system of national armed forces. The new government signals its intention to apply for NATO membership

May 2, 2014 – Dozens of pro-Russian protesters deliberately burned alive in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa
July 17, 2014 – Malaysian plane MH / MAS 17 shot down over the Donetsk region. The West blames Russia, it denies this, there is no clear evidence, which is strange. Malaysia does not believe in Russia’s guilt either
September 5, 2014 – “Minsk I” talks between the Ukrainian government and representatives of the Donetsk and Luhansk region under the auspices of representatives of the OSCE, Germany, France and Russia
February 12, 2015 – “Minsk II”. After Minsk I was not fulfilled, another agreement was reached. Its most important aspects were the ceasefire between government forces and separatists, and the transition to the federalization of Ukraine. Government troops – and subsequently the defending separatists – did not abide by the ceasefire; the government did not begin concrete negotiations on federalization in Kiev; France, Germany and the USA have been shown to discourage the Ukrainian government. Again, everything could be solved in 2015

March 14, 2016 – Russia begins withdrawing troops from Syria

December 2021 – Russia, first through diplomacy and then publicly, passes on its demands and proposals to the United States and NATO. The most important requirements are for the United States to end NATO’s eastward expansion – including Ukraine – and not to deploy missile base elements near the Russian border. If the US does not respond positively to Russia’s most important demands in real time, the Russian Federation will be forced to take unspecified military-technical measures
January 2022 – Both the US and NATO reject these most important Russian demands, and increase NATO troops in Eastern Europe and intensify arms supplies to Ukraine. Against who?

“Maybe I missed some essentials in a hurry and omitted others..”
I’ll not go back into the archives – Wilkipedia not being truthful – since I can’t remember the exact dates given that some were multi-tasking then, but let me suggest the following:
Russian banking default EBRD loses circa $ 30 billion, and other western organisations large amounts, largely finessed.
Mr. Clinton realises that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s “study” in/of Russia during late summer 1994 was wrong and he has been played since the beginning of his presidency.
NATO bombs the Danube north of the Iron Gates, blocking the Danube and cancelling the Austro/German investments in developing the hinterland of the Danube from Regensburg via Braila to the Danube delta, interfacing with the Danube-Black Sea canal from Cerna Voda to south of Constanta.
“Putin is simply pursuing a post-Cold War system which protects the interests and security of the Russian people, including those who, through no fault of their own, found themselves residing outside the borders of Russia following the collapse of the Soviet Union.”
Perhaps Mr. Ritter some of your former colleagues perceive it is for the world, and perhaps that is a component of the reasons for enhanced hysteria?
As you may agree, framing is often a facilitator of obfuscation, including from/of self, whom some of your previous mentors obfuscated by practicing “exceptionalist” contempt of those they were mentoring with their acquiescence, facilitated on the bases of degrees and reading all the books.
