Consolidate gains; complete the liberation of DPR. That should complete Phase II.
Phase III: Anybody’s guess really.
If the Russian Army is willing to commit forces to man a longer front, it could take Nikolaev. Then drive across country, north of Odessa and link up with Transnistria. After that, reduce the Odessa Pocket until the city is liberated.
However, it might be more prudent to just continue to advance from LPR/DPR across The Ukraine to liberate Kharkov and reach the Dnieper River. Saving Odessa for Phase IV. This would likely reduce the incidence of rocket attacks on LPR/DPR and Russia proper.
Kharkov or Odessa Are the most likely choices for phase 3.
The challenge for the Allies in choosing the objective of Phase 3 is they need to achieve the goal before onset of winter. Figure 8 weeks before phase 3 can begin in ernest. Phase 2 is not nearly achieved yet. DPR needs liberating too. Plus, Rest and retrofit and redeploy always takes longer than one thinks.
Also – the Allies goal in phase 3 will also be to prepare the theater for NATO counteroffensive in 2023. that’s a big unknown.
To protect and liberate the Donestk and Lugkhansk Republics
To Demilitarize and Denazify UKRAINE… ALL OF UKRAINE there has never been any statement or proclamation by President Putin to limit the objective to only parts of Ukraine or to leave any type of ‘Rump’ statelet. This SMO will end when it’s objective is achieved… no negotiation..no cease fire…no trust in the collective west … or fear of NATO.
@ZhukovG: “Phase III: Anybody’s guess really.”
For instance me. Phase III could be focusing Dniepr River or more advancing in South but hardly both at same time. Streching front line longer might not be good idea?
It warmed my heart to see these folks waving at the members of the convoy. From the little that I have seen of actual journalist’s reports, all the world knows that the Russians are justified and righteous in this SMO.
Since the West is continuing this war, Russia has to take all of Ukraine and return it to the RF. Then take out all of NATO. If the USA continues to threaten the RF after that, then take out the pentagon.
I don’t think trying to take all of Ukraine is a good idea, the western part is infested with Bandera people, what i can see is Russia taking land up to the Dnieper, they need to make sure whats left of Ukraine is never a threat again including Nato using them as a weapon.
U of Chicago international affairs expert John Mearsheimer has stated that Russia does not want all of Ukraine – definitely not the majority Ukrainian part in the west. He said Russia trying to take all of Ukraine, not just the Russian parts, would be like trying to swallow a porcupine.
With due respect to the fact that Mearsheimer is more realistic about the Russian position, he continues to be an American and this disqualifies him from punditry about Russian intentions. The original Russian intentions were to demilitarise and clean up for incorportation, the two eastern Oblasts and denazification was related to ALL of the Ukraine (even if VVP and Lavrov did make hints long before, about the Ukraine potentially losing its sovereignty if there was too much provocation from the Ukraine) however the plans evolved based on the realities on the ground, so now it is more appropriate to state with greater certainty that there will be more Oblasts incorporated into Russia, with the incorporation of the whole of the Southern coastal Oblasts an absolute certainty. . My understanding is that Sumy and Chernigiv Oblasts are still in limbo as far as incorporation goes, but the process of denazification would definitely require the full encirclement of all of the Ukraine in order to control and realign the educational, social, cultural and political space.
One needs to separate the word “people” from the word ‘”territory”. It does not mean that just because the Galician Banderists reside there, that this is necessarily their permanent home. De Facto most anyway live in Canada today…and if this 5% of the Ukie pop took over the whole government of the Ukraine in 2014, their influence post February 2022, is now minimal and shrinking further each day…so if Russia feels that the full area of Galicia is best cleared completely of Galicians then this will happen… The natural population movement westwards within the Ukraine and and out towards western Europe will only accelerate, the more that NATO continues to interfere…so the final outcome, whether Galicians will be staying in Galicia…is up to them, up to their and NATO behaviour and Russia only needs to keep firing its artillery to focus the minds of their opponents…
It is heartbreaking to hear the civilians speaking of their experiences.
I share tears and anger.
There’s a long way to go.
Thankfully Russia has the integrity and capacity to hold perpetrators accountable.
But joy also. The simple joy of these people walking down the lane, free at last, the long nightmare over. Tears of joy for them.
These are the meek, inheriting the earth. We were promised it would be this way. It is good to be present to see it when it happens.
If NATO launches rockets at Russia from Poland it will mean war with Poland and, possibly, NATO. If, however, NATO drives those rockets across the border into the Ukraine and launches them against Russia it becomes a matter between Russia and the Ukraine. Any part of the rump-Ukraine, however small, that remains allied with the NATO West can and will be used by NATO to attack Russia and the liberated territories in the south and east of the former Ukraine. I think it is therefore impossible for Russia to leave any part of the Ukraine, however small, outside Russian control.
A rump state will be used as a “cat’s paw” by the West. They already have, and the West has said that they will use Ukraine to cause Russia pain. And we see that they pretend they don’t take an active role in the conflict.
The choices are to 1) deny them the cat’s paw, or 2) persuade them to be friendly, or 3) accept for the long term hostility by the cat- proxy.
Because the West has declare their intent, the West remove the 4th option, relying on goodwill.
It simplifies future geopolitics to disallow any attack on the Kerch bridge (for example) from Ukrainelette, and instead force any such attack to come from Poland etc. Force the attack to be done notoriously.
So, the Russian troops move on, what keeps stray ukies from coming back to exact revenge?
This is LPR in the video, LPR Military ain‘t gonna‘ move on.It’s their country
sadly as other commentators have posted ….even today Ukr forces seem to be even more intently targeting Donetsk these days….all out desparation????
No, this is not desperation. Sure, it is a sign that they do not have better options than these attacks on civilians available. But this notwithstanding I still think that the attacks have a clear purpose. Given that the Empire of Evil cannot achieve victory today, it wants to create as much hatred between Russians and Ukranians as possible with the goal to exploit this hatred in the future. What better way to achieve that than by firing real missiles on civilian objects in the pro-russian population centers and stage at the same time fake attacks of Russians on Ukranian civilians and then launch media campaigns which only talk about the fake attacks on Ukranians while not mentioning any of the real attacks on the Russians?
If you create hate, you can hope that the Russians will be provoked into treating the Ukranians badly. And that can be the basis for your next attempt at stirring up anti-Russian conflicts in the future.
How does that create hatred between Russians and Ukrainians? I would think it does precisely the opposite.
At least the Galicians will still have Spanish Celtic Galicia.
Well thought, and I agree with your assessment, they want absolute bitterness and hatred to blossom.
As you have seen in the video the Ukranians see right through this.
They have done the same thing in Syria. Destroy infrastructure and blame it in the media on the Assad government.
At the end of the day truth will come out. And it definitely is the time after the war that will be crucial as far as improvement of living conditions, hope for a better future, return to normal life is concerned.
This is bullshit
I can not read the microscopic text that disappeared to fast, AND WHEN I PAUSE IT, THE TEXT GETS HIDDEN BY THE TOOL BAR THAT STAYS THER WHEN PAUSED.
Obviously, the content maker has the text, but he provided it is such a way it is knowable to the average guy on a smartphone. Maybe the idiot content provider should just make 1 wall of text that a guy can actually read?
That’s a problem with videos from various sources. I use Video Download Helper and thenwatch them in my video player, where I can make them bigger, pause them, and so forth, and also have an archive copy. It works quite well.
Go to the Setting cog wheel.
Change the speed to slow down the video playback.
Find the speed you need to read the subtitles.
.5 or .75 should be slow enough.
And tilt phone to landscape for a better viewing experience.
My desktop linux is already a landscape screen but I can’t view it in full.
The video[s] in this page do not obey the command to enlarge…
Another issue is the general tendency to not simplify the sentences translated to en.
If videos like this are not staged, then the Ukranians must know that they stand no chance. The soldiers of the Russian army will move on to the next battlefield with purpose and the conviction to do the right thing in their heart while at least the decent people among the Ukranians will be full of shame and will not have the will to resist. An army which is not only much better equipped and can rely on better command structures but which enjoys also the moral highground will be victorious. The western Empire of Evil must have been aware of this. The strategy of provoking this war makes only sense under the assumption that they were 100% certain that the economic blitzkrieg would be successful or if they thought that such a gamble was their only chance at trying to secure their position as hegemons. They cannot have expected that Ukraine could succeed in withstanding the Russians given that they even have (large?) parts of their own population against them.
Must really suck to be a Ukranian soldier who has to follow orders from people in Washington/Manhattan who tell him to go the east of his own country to try to kill his Russian cousins so that the people in Washington/Manhattan will eventually be able to gain access to the natural riches of the Russian lands, and knowing that he will most likely end up as a dead corpse in a land were people hate him.
The uSA lost in Vietnam to nationalists as well as:
with unprovoked invasions – they havve consistently overestimated their possibility of victory and time it would take
Afghanistan was twenty years in the making and uSA left with $90 billion in armaments behind in their evacuation and retreat
uSA Economic power is also overestimated as to affects on adversaries.
we are witnessing the end of the hegemon – yes they may use NATO for continued harassment but Europe will be a wasteland economically before that happens
gabon 45: “uSA Economic power is also overestimated as to affects on adversaries.”
USA produces nowadays 1-2% of global aluminium and around 4,5 % of steel. China 52-54%. The construction volume in China is 10-12 times bigger than is USA. China consumes and produces 80% more electicity and 65% more energy than USA and especially when we compare that used by business. It’s relatively safe to estimate that China’s real economy is at least twice bigger than that of USA. Not even GDP PPP can express the real economic advantage China has achieved. There is too much virtual economy inside those US GDP PPP figures. Chinese strategic experts estimated during Obama era that US real economy sector was around 27% of its GDP. They mentioned how US real economy stopped growing after Nixon’s Shock 1971.
not only the soldiers.
the whole of ukraine will have to shed their illusions about an easy way towards prosperity and the shining city on the hill called Europa.
The Men of Europe have already lost patience with the project…but good luck trying to get rid of the refugees. They have as much of a legal standing as any “syrian” refugee imported by mutti.
I do not feel a thing about project ukraina, but I feel for her crazed, drunken children. Their corrupt ways will(have) undermine our future here in Europe in fundemental details.
For one thing – the blackmarket for weapons is now a buyers market, with deliveries to your door…And that might make internal changes in european countries possible. It will also mean the end of the european soyuz. Border controls will be back with a vengeance after the first few attacks on establishment objects – so it will help in restoring the integrity of the traditional Nation States, native populations.
…that, if the next winter is not too harsh…
Well put Ferdl
What a video! The joy of the liberated is a wonderful sight. The end was great when they started waving at the tanks arriving.
this is what Donald Rumsfeld and his neocons thought how the Iraqi people would respond to the American invasion.
I commented a few weeks back that scenes such as this will become increasingly common, as one area at a time becomes liberated & the local populations emerge from shell shock & years of Banderite brain infusion, they will great their Russian liberators as liberators & sing for joy.
@ Saker Community Translators
Thanks for all your work, and thanks for translating this video.
I watched it and even though their gestures and their tears says a lot about their suffering, we were missing the details. Ukronazis are not different than a drug cartel gang, YouTube is full of videos of the Mexican drug cartels working to surpass each other in cruelty and terror, to destroy the competition. Ukronazis are a criminal, terrorist, gang, no less. A gang of nazi beasts, no offense to the beasts.
Russia’s SMO needs to destroy any vestige of the nazis in Ukraine.
We have seen the babushkas wailing and asking the Allies not to leave again. They have been terrorized by means of a relentless psychological war aiming to turn these people into subjects by fear. Fortunately the memories of the Great Patriotic War are still alive, and none of them will accept to be downgraded to a slave category.
We know there are plenty of Ukrainian servicemen who have been forced to support the nazi regime, the Allies are offering for them ways and means to lay down their arms.
As for the UkroWerhmacht, Aidar, Azov, Right Sector, and all the neo-nazi/neo-fascist gangs, no mercy.
They should be searched and destroyed by any means necessary, for the next century.
Yes the punishers of the whole world are being stood up to. The liberators hurry at some things but this situation took centuries to arrive at this point and will not be solved in 2 hours like some Hollywood action movie.
If reality starts bite just change the channel. At some point the tv will stop. Only then can most come out of the fantastical daze, you must use your own mind to figure out life.
How many people have moved back to Mariupol and Severodonetsk? What are their current estimated population?
Population in Mariupol included thousands of families of Azov. They went north and west in the buses. Probably will stay in Lviv. Mariupol in 3-4 years will look like Grozny. It will be a destination location for residence and tourism. A huge business (import-export) location.
Severodonetsk likely had many thousands leave or evacuated. When things stabilize, they will return.
These people couldn’t be ethnic cleansed, tortured or threatened out of ‘their land’. Now that they will be Russian land, many will return and population will grow. There’s hope and safety now.
Thank you, Larchmonter. You make me cry. For all of Ukraine. God bless!
Yes, there is hope.
I hope this war will shake up Russian society as much as it does others. I hope that all the young soldiers returning home will have their say in the country they have defended and seize power from the present generation of tshinovniks, bueroucarts and oligarchs.
‘cos not everything is hunky-dory in the den…
Then maybe VVP can relax and rest.
One can really see the joy in these peoples eyes and i can only imagine the terror they had to endure under the Nazi occupation, but know their suffering is over thank God!
Lovely to see people relieved and happy !
My view is that Russia should not decidedly not take all of Ukraine. It doesn’t need to for a start. It’s already got NATO members such as Poland and the Baltic states on it’s doorstep. My Goodness apart from the collective West which President in their right mind would want to be saddled with a Nazi Dictatorship let alone a small, landlocked country who is not only Bankrupt and will default but that is the most corrupt country in Europe if not the world. Russia should stick to the East and South and I think that’s what they will do.
The East and South will prosper with Russia whilst what’s left of 404 will be extremely unrelenting poverty, gross political corruption, a Nazi psycopathic regime and hatred and instability deeply ingrained in society forever. Will suit the collective West’s alleged values which they state 404 share with them. They can all live hatefuly ever after with their shared values bitching backbiting murderous intentions and the deep corrosion that the kind if evil shown by 404 and the collective West at the present time will have on their mind body soul and society for eternity.
Russia cannot leave any sort of a “rump state” version of Ukraine sitting around to fester. You have to take the whole thing. You’ve paid way too much for what you have accomplished thus far to want to play any kind of games,
A positive thing if this goes into the Fall/Winter, there will be *No* leaves on the trees or bushes then. The Ukrop´s use Urban areas with Civilians and the Forest as hiding places and when the leaves fall off they´ll have no convenient stretches of woods between the fields where they can dig in and that has been a problem since Phase I.
With the Industrial mobilization of Russia I think we can deduct that this will spread wider than the Ukraine, Vilnius will perchance get a visit from some very polite Russian fellows that want to teach them manners and what tone to use in a polite company, a lesson that Vilnius seems to crave by her actions.
I´m old enough to remember the “singing revolution” in the Baltics and how the Baltic countries have treated the Russian minority and it looks like a lesson in singing will accompany the lesson in manners. How to play “Katyusha” with a TOS perhaps?
Excuse my attempt to humor but I just realized(saw the Gov reaction to the people in the Netherlands and Germany) how bad this will get in the “free&democratic” Western world and may be deploying some Coping mechanism:)
I hope the Russian brothers understand that we, the people of the Empire of Lies have no say in this because this is beyond the pale and goes against everything(the Video) I thought the West stood for.
Some western experts say that Russia will go until Vinnitsa and Zhitomir regions of Ukraine. These are two large regions that sit just west of Kiev region and that separate Western Ukraine regions from all other Eastern regions.
Russia does not need to take those far western regions beyond Kiev region as this will be perhaps be fought over by Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia. And these far western regions will always be Banderites, it’s where the Ukraine project started. They have a different mentality to rump Russian speaking Ukraine. They are the ones that always speak Ukrainian and never Russian.
Slovakia here. We never claimed any part of Ukraine. Transcarpathia used to be part of Kingdom of Hungary, after its dissolution powers to be arbitrarily added it to newly formed Czechoslovakia and it stayed there for some odd 20yrs between ww1 and ww2.
Transcarpathians are not too eager to remain in Ukraine, nor about going back to Hungary, but … Hungary is currently a black sheep of EU, they might not want to remain in old EU (nor do Slovaks nor Czechs). Problem with leaving EU for landlocked countries like Hungary or Slovakia is that being surrounded by EU, they wont just let you just leave in peace, they will revenge and strangle. If Russia wants to break eastern EU from Brussel, it may work better if there is corridor (or border) to Russia and Black Sea.
That’s an excellent point, that presenting a Russian border with Hungary and Slovakia may give Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia opportunity. A rump state which is the play thing of the EU would have H, S, and C landlocked by the EU, as you said, and under the thumb of the West.
Both Russia and these central European states would benefit from trade and an unoppressive trade corridor to the ocean.
For the start of liberation, perhaps it would suffice that Russia reaches the Danube delta. The Danube River is deemed an international waterway and could be a lifeline for my Serbia, Hungary and Slovakia. If Romania wants to block it, then its big port of Constanta can also be blocked.
The psycho Ukro-nazi bastards have created and are still creating so much suffering and death to innocent civilians. They need to be put down like rabid dogs.
From what I’ve read and seen in pics and videos of Mariupol, that most of the burned out but structurally intact residential buildings there, were burned out deliberately by the Azov nazis when they left a structure.. seems a very common atrocity that’s still happening as the Nazi’s are driven out of a place, they purposely destroy hospitals, schools etc. that they occupied, and set fires ., and also destroy infrastructure like water pumping stations, etc. .. Like the Aidar nazis did in Lisichansk.. totally abominable… evil shit
